¼ cup lightly packed brown sugar
1 cup soy sauce
¼ cup sesame oil
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 tablespoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
1 teaspoon Sriracha hot pepper sauce
12 boneless country-style pork ribs

Steps:

  • Stir together the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, olive oil, rice vinegar, lime juice, garlic, ginger, and Sriracha in the crock of a slow cooker. Add the ribs; cover and refrigerate. Allow ribs to marinate in the refrigerator for 8 hours or overnight.
  • Before cooking, drain marinade and discard. Cook on Low for 9 hours. Drain cooked meat and shred, using 2 forks.

3/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup lemon juice
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce

4 pounds bone-in beef short ribs
Optional: Hot cooked ramen noodles, sesame seeds, julienned green onions and carrots, sliced cucumber, radish, mushrooms and red chili pepper

Steps:

  • In a greased 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker, whisk together the first 8 ingredients. Add short ribs and turn to coat; cook, covered, on low until meat is tender, 6-7 hours. If desired, serve with ramen noodles and optional toppings.

2 country style pork ribs (boneless or bone-in)
1 Tablespoon hoisin sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
1/8 cup lemon juice
1 1/2 Tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 Tablespoon minced garlic
Sesame seeds (optional for garnish)
Chopped green onion (optional for garnish)

Steps:

  • In a medium-sized bowl, add the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sugar, ketchup, lemon juice, honey, ginger, and garlic. Whisk all together to combine.
  • Place the country ribs in the bottom of a 4 quart crockpot slow cooker. Click for a 4 quart crockpot slow cooker.
  • Pour the sauce over the ribs and cook 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high.
  • Carefully remove the ribs to a plate, pour the sauce into a small sauce pan, and then return the ribs to the crockpot and cover to keep warm.
  • Bring the small sauce pan full of sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat and let thicken, about 15 minutes. Click for a small sauce pan.
  • To serve, drizzle the thickened sauce over the ribs.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onion, if desired, and enjoy.

4 lbs beef short ribs, cut into 3-inch pieces
salt and pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 medium onion, chopped
ginger, peeled and chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can low sodium beef broth

Steps:

  • Season ribs with salt and pepper.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add half of ribs.
  • Cook, turning often, until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
  • Transfer to a slow cooker.
  • Repeat with remaining ribs.
  • Add onion, ginger and garlic to skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until onion is slightly softened, 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes. (Mixture will be very dry.)

½ cup soy sauce
½ cup vegetable broth
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
