2 granny smith apples (large, peeled, cored and cut into 1/2 inch slices)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 cup apple juice (or apple cider )
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup pecans (toasted)

Steps:

  • Coat the crock pot with non stick spray
  • Layer the sweet potatoes and apples in the crock pot
  • Combine butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, apple cider, cinnamon in a bowl and pour over the apple/sweet potato layers
  • Cover and cook on low for 7 hours, until potatoes are tender
  • Sprinkle with pecans, serve warm.

1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
2 teaspoons Almond Extract
1 stick of butter (sliced)

Steps:

  • Place your apples in your 6 quart slow cooker.
  • In a bowl, mix your sugars and cinnamon and then sprinkle on top of your apples.
  • Drizzle with your extract.
  • Place butter slices evenly on top.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, occasionally stirring.

3 tablespoons corn starch
pinch salt

Steps:

  • In slow cooker, stir together sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, corn starch, and salt. Cube butter and stir into the mixture.
  • Cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours, stirring once during cooking.

4 large yams
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon cornstarch
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 ½ cups apple juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground allspice
3 large apples - peeled, cored and sliced

Steps:

  • Place yams in a large saucepan with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, and cook 30 minutes, or until tender but firm. Drain, peel, and cut into 1/3 inch thick slices.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with the cornstarch and brown sugar. Mix in the apple juice, lemon juice, cinnamon, and allspice.
  • Alternate layers of yams and apples in the prepared baking dish. Pour the apple juice mixture over the layers.
  • Cover, and bake 1 hour in the preheated oven. Remove cover, and continue baking 30 minutes. Baste frequently with the juices from the pan to prevent drying.

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into 8 pieces
Ice cream, if desired

Steps:

  • Place apples in large bowl; add granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and the cinnamon. Stir until apples are evenly coated.
  • Spray 4- to 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place apple mixture into slow cooker.

¼ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon melted butter
½ cup toasted, chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Combine sweet potatoes, apple, cranberries, orange juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a slow cooker and stir. Add melted butter and stir again.
  • Cook on High for 2 hours, stirring every hour to redistribute liquid. Reduce heat to Low and continue cooking and stirring until sweet potatoes are tender, 2 to 4 hours more.
