Why have frozen chicken nuggets when you can have them fresh and homemade? They come out perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside, thanks to the air fryer.

1 cup buttermilk
2 pounds chicken tenderloins, cut into nugget size
1 cup flour
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 eggs
2 cups panko bread crumbs
cooking spray

Steps:

  • Mix buttermilk and chicken in a large bowl and let soak while you prepare the seasoned flour.
  • Combine flour, Parmesan cheese, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Beat eggs in a separate bowl. Pour bread crumbs onto a flat plate.
  • Dredge each chicken nugget first in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray the basket with cooking spray. Place as many nuggets into the basket as you can without overcrowding. Lightly mist the tops of the nuggets with cooking spray.
  • Cook for 10 minutes. Flip chicken nuggets and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove and repeat with remaining nuggets.

Air Fryer Tofu Nuggets couldn't be simpler to make and they taste amazing! Serve these up as an appetizer, or party snack.

1 pound (450g) firm tofu
1 cup almond flour
3 chickpea eggs (3 tbsp chickpea flour + 3 tbsp water)
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/2 cup vegan mayonnaise
1/4 cup non-dairy milk
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup fresh parsley
Pinch of ground pepper
Juice of one small lemon

Steps:

  • Cut your tofu into 1/2 inch cubes
  • Make your chickpea eggs by whisking together the chickpea flour and water.
  • Whisk together the chickpea eggs, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  • Using a fork, dip each cube of tofu into the egg mixture, and then coat in almond flour.
  • Place the tofu nuggets into your air fryer in a single layer (you may need to cook them in two batches).
  • Cook them at 375°F / 190°C for 15 minutes. Check your own Air Fryer directions if needed.
  • To make sure they cook evenly, you may want to turn the nuggets over at the halfway point.
  • To make the ranch sauce, simply place everything into your blender and pulse until smooth.
  • Serve your nuggets while still warm.

These air fried nuggets are healthier than deep fried, and have tons of flavor! Serve with your favorite dipping sauce such as ranch, honey mustard, or chipotle mayo. I like to use a Misto® sprayer with my own oil, but feel free to use regular cooking spray. Use different varieties of ranch mix (spicy, dill, etc) to change up the flavor.

1 pound chicken tenders, cut into 1.5 to 2-inch pieces
1 (1 ounce) package dry ranch salad dressing mix
2 tablespoons flour
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup panko bread crumbs
1 serving olive oil cooking spray

Steps:

  • Place chicken in a bowl, sprinkle with ranch seasoning, and toss to combine. Let sit for 5-10 minutes.
  • Place flour in a resealable bag. Place egg in a small bowl and panko bread crumbs on a plate. Preheat air fryer to 390 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Place chicken into the bag and toss to coat. Lightly dip chicken into egg mixture, letting excess drip off. Roll chicken pieces in panko, pressing crumbs into the chicken.
  • Spray basket of the air fryer with oil and place chicken pieces inside, making sure not to overlap. You may have to do two batches, depending on the size of your air fryer. Lightly mist chicken with cooking spray.
  • Cook for 4 minutes. Turn chicken pieces and cook until chicken is no longer pink on the inside, about 4 more minutes. Serve immediately.

2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
¾ cup panko bread crumbs
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
olive oil spray
barbeque sauce and honey mustard for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat Air Fryer to 400°F.
  • Using a sharp knife cut the chicken breasts into about 20 nuggets.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the chicken pieces and melted butter. Mix to evenly coat and then season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a second bowl, mix the panko, flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  • Add 3 to 4 nuggets to the bowl with the panko mixture. Pess the nuggets into the coating on all sides until they're evenly covered. Transfer nuggets to a large plate or baking sheet and continue until the nuggets are the remaining chicken pieces.
  • Spray the nuggets on both sides with olive oil spray.
  • Spray or brush the air fryer basket with non-stick spray or olive oil.
  • Place the nuggets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • Cook for 8 minutes, flipping the nuggets halfway through.
  • Serve immediately with barbeque sauce and honey mustard for dipping.
