MARSHMALLOW CRISPIE BARS
Easy, easy, easy. As a variation, you can add candy coated chocolates, chocolate chips, or nuts.

Steps:
- Coat a 9 x 13 inch pan with spray oil or margarine.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter or margarine over low heat. Add the vanilla. Melt the marshmallows into the margarine, stirring. Add the cereal when the marshmallows have melted; stir until cereal is coated. Quickly pour into the prepared pan. Use a sheet of waxed paper to press the mixture down flat and evenly into the pan.
- Let set for 2 to 3 hours. Cut into squares.

DATE RICE KRISPIES BARS
DELICIOUS!! I have made this recipe for 30 years and it is my DH's favorite of all my dozens of goodies! They can be sprinkled with powdered sugar or coconut on top. I use Splenda in the recipe to cut down on sugar calories. An easy and quick preparation.

Steps:
- Combine butter, dates and brown sugar (or Splenda) in saucepan. Cook over LOW heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove and add vanilla, nuts, coconut and rice cereal. Stir until well blended.
- Press down hard into a buttered 9 x 9 inch pan. Sprinkle top with additional coconut and lightly press inches (or use optional method of cutting and roll into logs and roll in powdered sugar without coconut).
- When cool cut in strips or squares.
- Enjoy!

- In a large bowl, combine the flour and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Press into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. , Meanwhile, in a heavy saucepan, combine the dates, sugar and butter; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cook and stir for 3 minutes. Add 1/2 cup hot mixture to egg; return all to pan. Bring to a boil. Remove from the heat; stir in cereal, nuts and vanilla. Spread over crust. Cool on a wire rack. , In a small bowl, combine frosting ingredients; beat until creamy. Frost bars; cut and store in the refrigerator.
