CREATIVE CLAY DOUGH (NON EDIBLE)



Creative Clay Dough (Non Edible) image

This uses simple items you'll have on hand in your home. A good way to use the "old" baking soda in your fridge!

Yield 3 cups

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 cup cornstarch
2 cups baking soda (1 # pkg)
1 1/4 cups cold water

Steps:

  • Stir cornstarch and soda together, add cold water, stir over heat until "mashed potato" consistency.
  • Turn out onto a plate, cover with plastic wrap until cool-enough to handle.
  • Knead dough and use immediately or store in an airtight container.
  • IDEAS: ornaments, modeling, pottery.
  • HANDLING: roll thin, cut with cookie cutters.
  • DRYING: dry at room temp for three days OR in a 200* oven until dry (check every 10 minutes).

This is a NON-EDIBLE cookie recipe that makes lovely ornaments to hang on your Christmas Tree.

Number Of Ingredients 3

4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
1 ½ cups water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix the flour, salt and water. Knead dough until smooth. Roll out dough and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour. Once cool paint with colors, if desired.

  • Stir over medium heat till ball forms.
  • Store dough in plastic when not in use.
