WHITE SAUCE CRAB PASTA
This is a creation of my own that resulted from too much white sauce when I made another recipe from here. So, I played around with what I had in the house and came up with this tasty meal. It actually uses imitation crabmeat instead of real crab. It's very mild, so feel free to spice it up if you prefer.

Steps:
- Cook the pasta as directed on the box.
- Meanwhile, in a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the onion and cook, stirring often until softened, for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
- Stir in the clam juice, cream and garlic powder.
- Bring to a boil, stirring continuously.
- Drain pasta and return to the pot.
- Stir in the imitation crab and cream sauce.
- Toss to combine all the ingredients.
- Garnish with cilantro or parsley if desired.

Steps:
- 1. Heat olive oil in large pan then saute onion till it starts to turn golden. Meanwhile make pasta.
- 2. Add white wine n cook on low for 5 minutes add crab once pulled apart into small chunks. Then add chicken broth and parsley n salt n pepper (mayb 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes for heat) Let simmer for 5 more minutes.
- 3. Drain pasta n put in large bowl n top with crab mixture n toss in parmesan cheese....ENJOY :)

- Boil pasta according to package directions. Make sure to liberally salt the pasta water once it starts boiling before adding in the pasta.
- When the pasta is almost done place butter and cream in a saucepan and heat until the butter melts. Remove from heat and stir in the cheese until melted. Add in the Old Bay seasoning and the crab meat and stir to combine. Set aside.

- Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a skillet, saute onions, mushrooms and green pepper in butter until crisp-tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Remove from the heat. - Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
- At the same time, heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic to the hot oil; cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in imitation crab and heat for 2 minutes.
- Begin cooking rotini. Add to the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, about 8 minutes.
- While the pasta is cooking, stir half-and-half and parsley into the crab sauce; bring to a simmer. Continue to simmer crab sauce, adding pasta water as necessary, while pasta is finishing.
- Drain pasta.
- Mix Parmesan cheese into crab sauce and heat until melted, about 2 minutes. Serve over pasta.

- In a pot begin boiling heavily salted water. The pasta I chose takes 8 minutes for al dente which is the perfect time to make the sauce. Add the pasta to the water once you have all your ingredients mise-en-place
- In a skillet on medium, add a tbsp of oil (I used the crab oil the claws were packed in) and the chopped shallot. Let fry for a couple minutes.
- Add the cream, milk, and butter. When the butter melts add the grated gran padano cheese, salt and pepper. Taste for salt as gran padano can be salty by itself. Let the sauce thicken until the pasta is done.
- Use tongs to bring the pasta from the boiling water directly into the pan. No need to strain. This method also brings along some of the starchy pasta water which is great for getting the sauce to thicken and stick. Give it a few tosses to get all the pasta coated, then add some parsley and serve.
