This recipe is great over pasta, and provides a flavorful vegan alternative to traditional cream sauces.

1 (8 ounce) package silken tofu
1 ½ cups soy milk
2 tablespoons soy margarine
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
½ teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoons dried dill weed
½ teaspoon salt-free herb and spice blend
¼ cup water
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Steps:

  • Crumble tofu into a blender or food processor. Puree briefly, then add the soy milk, margarine, garlic, nutritional yeast, paprika, dill and spice blend. Process the mixture until it is smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat until it comes to a boil. Combine the cornstarch and water, pour into pan with the sauce. Continue cooking over medium heat until sauce has thickened, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and allow sauce to cool slightly, adjust flavors to taste and serve over pasta or roasted vegetables.

This easy cream sauce is made with butter, flour, milk, and cream. Add Parmesan cheese, fresh herbs, white wine, or seasonings for more flavor.

1 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons ​all-purpose flour
1/3 cup heavy cream
Optional: 1/4 cup dry white wine
1 pinch kosher salt, or to taste
1 pinch white pepper or black pepper, or to taste
Optional: 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until bubbles begin to appear around the edge. Keep warm.
  • Melt the butter in a separate saucepan over medium-low heat.
  • Add the flour and stir until the mixture is well blended to make a roux . Continue cooking, stirring, for 2 minutes. Make sure it does not turn brown.
  • Gradually stir the hot milk into the flour and butter mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce begins to boil and thickens. Simmer, frequently stirring, over very low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the cream and wine, if using. Season with salt and pepper and add a little nutmeg if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Quick And Easy Creamy Herb Chicken, filled with so much flavour, ready and on your table in 15 minutes! You won't believe how easy this is!

4 chicken breasts ((pounded 1/2-inch thin))
2 teaspoons each of onion powder and garlic powder
1 teaspoon fresh chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon each of dried thyme and dried rosemary*
salt and pepper (, to season)
4 cloves garlic (, minced (or 1 tablespoon minced garlic))
1 teaspoon fresh chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon each of dried thyme and dried rosemary
1 cup milk ((or half and half)*)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper (, to taste)
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (, until smooth)

Steps:

  • Coat chicken breasts with the onion and garlic powders and herbs. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil a large pan or skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken breasts until opaque and no longer pink inside (about 5 minutes each side, depending on thickness). Transfer to a plate; set aside.
  • To the same pan or skillet, heat another 2 teaspoons of olive oil and sauté garlic, with parsley, thyme and rosemary, for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  • Stir in milk (or cream); season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Bring to a boil; add the cornstarch mixture to the centre of the pan, quickly stirring, until sauce has thickened slightly. Reduce heat and simmer gently for a further minute to allow the sauce to thicken more.
  • Return chicken to the skillet. Sprinkle with extra herbs if desired. Serve immediately.

12 ounces spaghetti, fettuccine or linguine
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon minced fresh rosemary, or 1 teaspoon dried
1 cup heavy cream
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Freshly grated nutmeg, to taste
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (or to taste)
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In a large pot of boiling salted water add the spaghetti and cook until it is al dente. Meanwhile, in a large skillet set over moderately low heat, melt the butter, add the rosemary and cook it, stirring, for 1 to 2 minutes. As soon as the pasta is cooked, drain and add it to the pan. Add the cream, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Toss to coat and let reduce 1 to 2 minutes, gently stirring, or until lightly thickened. Add Parmesan to taste, toss to combine and transfer to serving dish. Sprinkle with parsley.

  • First, begin to prepare your Spaghetti in a separate pot, according to package instructions. Once they have finished cooking you can drain them, but do not rinse them.
  • In the meantime, work on the Garlic Cream Sauce. Add the minced garlic to a large pan with a slight rim and sauté in Water or Oil for 5 minutes over Medium heat, until translucent.
