This creamy gravy is a real southern treat.

1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2/3 cup chicken broth
2/3 cup Land O Lakes® Half & Half

Steps:

  • Melt butter in 1-quart saucepan until sizzling; add onion. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, 2-3 minutes or until softened.
  • Stir in flour, thyme and pepper. Reduce heat to medium; stir in chicken broth and half & half. Cook, stirring occasionally, 2-4 minutes or until smooth and bubbly.
  • Serve gravy over chicken, biscuits and/or potatoes.

1/4 cup butter
4 tablespoons flour
2 1/2 cups milk
1 chicken bouillon cube
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • melt bacon grease and butter in a sauce pan over medium heat.
  • add flour and mix creating a roux.
  • whisk in milk slowly to prevent lumps.
  • whisk untill smooth and thick.
  • add bullion cube and salt and pepper.
  • TIPS- If your sauce gets to thick add more milk. If it is to runny, add more flour. You can serve this sauce over potatoes, biscuits, chicken fried steak, etc.

salt & pepper
2 cups milk

Steps:

  • Heat skillet.
  • Add oil.
  • Add flour when oil is hot.
  • Salt and pepper.
  • Cook over medium high heat to cook flour almost brown.
  • Add milk and stir till the desired thickness.

3 tablespoons butter
2 shallots, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (4 ounce) package sliced button mushrooms
1 tablespoon minced fresh rosemary
6 tablespoons white wine, divided
1 cup heavy cream
sea salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste

Steps:

  • Heat butter in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat until foamy; cook and stir shallots and garlic in the melted butter for 3 minutes. Add mushrooms and rosemary; stir to coat, 1 minute.
  • Pour 1/4 cup white wine into mushroom mixture; cook and stir until mushrooms are golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Increase heat to medium-high; add cream and 2 tablespoons white wine. Cook and stir until gravy is creamy and thick, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

2 cups milk (lowfat or nonfat milk okay)
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
3/4 teaspoon seasoning (Bulk KFC Original Recipe Seasoning (Copycat))
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • MELT 3 tablespoons butter over medium low heat in a large saucepan; STIR in 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour.
  • COOK until bubbly but not browned.
  • WARM 2 cups milk in a microwave oven.
  • WHISK constantly while adding warmed milk to butter/flour roux all at once, until smooth.
  • RAISE heat to medium-high then add 1 level teaspoon chicken bouillon powder, 3/4 teaspoon Recipe #453973, 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, and 1/8 teaspoon paprika.
  • WHISK constantly until mixture begins to bubble.
  • REDUCE heat to medium.
  • COOK until completely thickened and flavors develop, whisking often; ADJUST seasonings to taste if desired (thin gravy if needed, with a few teaspoons of milk).
  • REDUCE heat to lowest setting; COVER gravy loosely and stir occasionally until served.
  • SERVE with your favorite Southern-style dishes and enjoy!
