CRANSHINE: HOMEMADE CRANBERRY VODKA
Commercially available flavored vodkas are full of who-knows-what. Steep your own Cranberry Vodka without any added sugar or chemicals for festive drinks!

Steps:
- Divide the vodka equally between 3 quart sized wide mouthed mason jars, about 2 cups each.
- Add the fresh cranberries to a food processor and pulse until the cranberries are roughly chopped.
- Divide the chopped cranberries equally between the jars. Add the lids and seal loosely.
- Store in a cool dark place for 3 - 4 weeks.
- Pour the cranberry vodka mixture from the mason jars through a fine mesh strainer into a large jug to remove the cranberry pieces. You don't need them any longer here, but you can keep them to make baked goods if you wish!
- If there are still some small pieces of cranberries left in the vodka, you will need to strain the liquid again through some cheesecloth or similar.
- Decant the finished cranberry vodka into pretty bottles of your choice!
CRANBERRY-ORANGE VODKA

- Place cranberries, sugar and vanilla in a medium saucepan. Place pan over medium heat and stir. Simmer cranberry mixture until the berries burst, about 5 to 6 minutes.
- Place orange peels in a large glass container with an airtight lid, or large mason jars with lids. Pour vodka over the orange peels.
- Allow the cranberry mixture to cool. Pour the cooled mixture into the glass container(s). Cover tightly and set aside for 1 week. After 1 week, strain out the cranberries sand orange peels and pour mixture into a clean bottle, using a funnel. Store vodka in the refrigerator.
- To serve: Pour 2 ounces of vodka mixture over ice in a tall glass and top with tonic water. Garnish with a slice of lime.
HOW TO MAKE CRANBERRY INFUSED VODKA
Steps:
- Place cranberries, sugar, vanilla extract, and one tablespoon of water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently and let the mixture simmer for about five minutes or until the berries have burst.
- Pour the mixture into a large pitcher and add the vodka. Mix well. Cover tightly and let sit in the refrigerator for one week.
- After one week, strain the mixture using a small mesh strainer and then store the cranberry infused vodka covered in the refrigerator.
- To serve, use your favorite cocktail recipe or pour a little of the cranberry vodka over ice and add tonic water to taste. Garnish with a slice of orange, lemon, or lime, and enjoy!

- Place chunked cranberries and whole cranberries in a big jar and pour vodka into the jar over the cranberries
- Stir with a wooden spoon (or cap and shake jar) and cap jar and store on a shelf
- Stir every day for 7 days
- Line a strainer or sieve with cheesecloth and place it over a large bowl. Pour the contents of the jar over the sieve and throw away the cheesecloth and cranberries
