Steps:
- Add cranberries and sugar to a saucepan and stir.
- Zest orange, then juice, and add both to the saucepan.
- Add cinnamon stick and cook over MED-LOW for 15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and mixture thickens to your liking.
- Remove cinnamon stick and serve at room temperature or chilled.

- In a medium saucepan, combine orange juice, orange zest, sugar and 3/4 cup water over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved. Stir in cranberries and bring to a boil; reduce heat and let simmer until sauce has thickened, about 15 minutes. Let cool completely before serving.

Steps:
- Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil; add cranberries, return to a boil.
- Reduce heat and boil gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat. Add orange zest and Cointreau (or Grand Marnier) and stir.
- Let cool at room temperature.
- Refrigerate until cold, or serve at room temperature.

- With a wooden spoon or potato masher (what I use), smash down the cranberries until it reaches your desired texture. I prefer mostly mushed with a few whole berries sprinkled in there.
