This is an easy and delicious cranberry orange relish. Much of its sweet orange flavor comes from the liqueur, however it can be omitted.

- In a food processor, grinder, or blender, combine the cranberries, orange and sugar. Blend until evenly chopped.
- Stir in the liqueur and refrigerate for several hours to allow flavors to blend.

I use either Grand Marnier or Cointreu in this recipe. The additions of liqueur and orange zest make this cranberry sauce a holiday favorite at our house.

Steps:
- Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil; add cranberries, return to a boil.
- Reduce heat and boil gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat. Add orange zest and Cointreau (or Grand Marnier) and stir.
- Let cool at room temperature.
- Refrigerate until cold, or serve at room temperature.

Flavored with orange juice, orange liqueur and orange zest, it is a must on your holiday menus!

- Gather and prep all ingredients according to specifications above.
- Combine the orange juice, orange liqueur, brown sugar and maple syrup in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat and whisk together. Once the sugar has dissolved, stir in the cranberries.
- Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
- Simmer for about 15 minutes or until all cranberries have popped and sauce has reached your desired consistency, stirring regularly. Simmer less time for a chunkier sauce and more time for a smoother sauce. (Hint: Help pop the cranberries by mashing them lightly with a fork or potato masher.)
- Remove pan from heat, stir in the orange zest and cool.
- Bring the cranberry sauce to room temperature before serving. Buon Appetito!

- In a large deep pan combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice, and orange zest. Bring to a boil.Continue gently boiling for about 6-8 minutes, or until the cranberries have popped open. Remove from the heat.
- Blend the cranberries with an immersion blender until smooth. Or place in a regular blender, being cautious as hot liquid will rise when blended.
- STRAIN #1 - Pour through a strainer into a bowl, pushing the mixture down with a rubber spatula. There will be cranberry skins left in the strainer. Discard the skins.
- STRAIN #2 - Pour the strained mixture through a fine-mesh strainer, or a strainer lined with cheesecloth, into a clean bowl. Again push the mixture down with a rubber spatula and discard the skins.

- Mix together sugar, port and water in a heavy 2-quart saucepan, over MED-HIGH heat. Stir well, and add cranberries. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to MED-LOW and simmer 30-40 minutes until thickened. Stir often.
- If a chunkier cranberry sauce is desired, pour the sauce in a blender or food processor and chop or pulse a couple of times, until cranberries are almost puréed. (Or, even easier yet, leave the sauce in the pan and use a stick blender.)
- If a smooth cranberry sauce is desired, pour the sauce through a fine-mesh strainer over a medium bowl.
