COSMOPOLITAN COCKTAIL
The cosmopolitan, typically referred to as the 'cosmo,' gained popularity during the 1990s when it was frequently mentioned on the television show Sex and the City. The combination of vodka, orange liqueur, lime juice, and cranberry juice have made it a timeless classic.

Steps:
- 1. Fill a cocktail glass with ice to chill
- 2. Pour the Grey Goose L'Orange vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice and the juice of half a lime into a cocktail shaker 3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 20 seconds 4. Empty your glass of the ice and strain in the cocktail 5. Cut a piece of orange peel about the size of your thumb. Be careful not to bend it at this stage 6. Hold the piece of orange peel between finger and thumb over the glass, and use a match to gently warm it for about 20 seconds 7. Then bend the peel so it releases oil onto the lighted match, igniting a flame which will settle on the surface of the drink & drop peel into glass

THE BEST COSMOPOLITAN
The history of the Cosmopolitan is fuzzy - with several bartenders claiming to have invented the classic, pink drink - but it's clear that Toby Cecchini at NYC's The Odeon put it on the map in the late '80s and early '90s. The Cosmo's popularity soared in the late '90s and early '00s after being prominently featured in "Sex & The City," and since falling off the radar in recent years, the drink is beginning to make a comeback. Balancing sweet and tart flavors, the Cosmopolitan is known for delivering both elegance and simplicity: Cranberry juice, high-end vodka, fresh lime, and Cointreau are all it takes to create the perfect Cosmo.

- Add in the vodka, Cointreau, lemon juice* (See Notes), cranberry juice (I like Ocean Spray or L&A. I have also made with 5-calorie cranberry 'juice' without issue), and shake vigorously for 20 seconds, or until the shaker is chilled to the touch.
- Strain the mixture into a martini glass (chilled is preferred - place in the freezer for 15 minutes) and squeeze a piece of lemon peel over the glass to release the oils and add more flavor.
- Then slice the lemon peel into thin strips and garnish** (See Notes) with a lemon twist and optionally a maraschino cherry.
