CORN FLAKES TOFFEE BARS
This recipe was attached to a package of these bars which I bought at a Craft and Bake Sale. I had to make more since my package was more or less finished by the time I got home from my day of craft sale shopping.

Steps:
- Melt toffee, chocolate bars, butter and cream in saucepan.
- Pour over cereal and nuts.
- Press down into a 9 x 13 pan and let harden.

The best easy recipe I know. Perfect for when you need a quick treat. Although they will give your arm a good workout. And the recpe is really easy to make smaller or bigger.

- In large pot melt first three ingredients on low heat.
- When many bubbles appear, pour in cornflakes.
- Immediately drop spoonfuls onto cookie sheet coated with waxed paper.

- Over medium heat melt toffee, cream and butter just until bubbly.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Beat butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk in a large bowl; stir in flour and salt. Press dough into prepared baking dish.
- Bake in preheated oven until crust is light brown, 25 to 30 minutes.
- Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over hot crust. Let stand until soft, about 5 minutes, and spread evenly; sprinkle with nuts. Cool pan on wire rack for 30 minutes.

CORNFLAKE CHEWS - FRAICHE LIVING

- In a large heavy pot on low heat melt the toffee bars with the heavy cream until melted, stirring occasionally. In a seperate frying pan toast almonds and coconut until golden, around 1-2 minutes.
- Add the almonds, coconut and cornflakes to the toffee mixture and stir together well until combined.
- Take a heaping tablespoon of the mixture and drop onto parchment paper or wax paper (just lay it on the counter). Using lightly wet fingers, shape into little mounds by pressing together lightly (wetting your hands helps prevent it from sticking). Cool before serving and store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the freezer for up to a month.
