Convenient prebaked crust makes this tasty taco pizza as easy as can be. It's a great recipe, especially if you have teenagers. I keep the ingredients on hand so that we can whip up this filling meal anytime. -Mary Cass, Baltimore, Maryland

1 pound ground beef
1 envelope taco seasoning
1 cup water
2 prebaked 12-inch pizza crusts
1 can (16 ounces) refried beans
3/4 cup salsa
2 cups coarsely crushed tortilla chips
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Optional: shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in taco seasoning and water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes; set aside. , Place crusts on ungreased pizza pans or baking sheets. Combine beans and salsa; spread over crusts. Top with beef mixture, chips and cheese. , Bake until heated through and cheese is melted, 13-16 minutes. If desired, sprinkle with lettuce and tomatoes.

1 Tube Pillsbury Pizza Crust
1-8oz. pkg. Cream Cheese
½ pkg. Mild Taco Seasoning Mix
½ lb. Cooked Hamburger
1 cup Refried Beans
2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
½ cup Green Onions, chopped
2 cups Shredded Lettuce
1 Tomato, chopped
Doritos (crushed)
Avocado, optional garnish
Sour Cream, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Roll out pizza crust onto a round pizza pan.
  • In a small mixing bowl, combine cream cheese with taco seasoning mix and spread over the crust.
  • Next, spread the refried beans and hamburger over cream cheese mixture, then sprinkle cheese on top.
  • Bake for 8- 10 minutes, or until crust is baked through and cheese is melted.
  • Sprinkle on green onion, tomato, lettuce, and finally Doritos on top.
  • Garnish with avocado, sour cream or anything of your choice.
  • Enjoy this delicious pizza!

Casey's is a convenience store in the Midwest. Surprisingly, they make amazing pizzas. Taco pizza is one of our family favorites, so we've recreated it.

Number Of Ingredients 18

2 and ⅔ cups all-purpose or bread flour (divided)
2 and ¼ teaspoons (1 package) instant yeast
1 and ½ teaspoons granulated sugar
¾ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon dried basil
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
2 Tablespoons olive oil
¾ cup warm water
1 small onion (diced)
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1 cup water
1 packet taco seasoning (I used 4 Tablespoons of Penzeyo's original taco seasoning)
1 can refried beans
1 large tomato (diced)
2 cups cheddar cheese (grated)
1 head small lettuce (shredded)
Doritos (crushed)

Steps:

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment, mix together 1 cup of the flour with the yeast, sugar, salt, basil and garlic on medium speed. Add the warm water and continue mixing.
  • Slowly add in additional flour as needed to form a smooth and pliable dough. It should feel tacky but not stick to your hands.
  • Using your hands, shape the dough into a ball and place it into a well-greased bowl. Cover and allow to rise in a warm spot, about 30-60 minutes.
  • Once the dough is done rising, punch it down and stretch it out to fit onto a baking sheet or baking stone. It's best to sprinkle some cornmeal on the stone/sheet to prevent the pizza from sticking.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  • In a large saucepan set over medium heat, heat up the olive oil. Add the onion and sautee until translucent.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until no longer pink in the middle. Drain off the fat and grease.
  • Add in the water and taco seasoning. Cover with a lid and bring the mixture to a boil. It should thicken. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside.
  • Spread the refried beans on top of your prepared pizza crust. Then add the ground beef mixture on top. Sprinkle the top with the grated cheddar cheese and bake in your preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden.
  • Top the pizza with the shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and crushed Doritos. Slice and enjoy.

1 batch sourdough pizza crust (or whichever recipe you prefer)
1 pound ground beef
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder or garlic salt
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cornmeal or flour
1 14.5-oz can refried beans
1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tomatoes, chopped (decently large)
5 cups Romaine lettuce, shredded thinly
1 cup pickled jalapenos (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees
  • In a large saucepan, brown beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Return to pan, and add seasoning and 1 chopped tomato. Cook for another minute, stirring continually. .
  • Roll dough in cornmeal and roll out on counter or coated baking pan or pizza stone. Pre-bake in oven for 5 minutes.
  • Remove pizza from oven. Using a rubber spatula, spread refried beans evenly over dough like you would normal pizza sauce.
  • Add the beef evenly over the refried beans. Then sprinkle cheese over top. Place pizza back in oven and cook for 12-14 minutes or until crust is crisp.
  • Top with remaining tomato, lettuce, jalapenos and taco chips.
