EASY SLOW COOKER HAM

Easy Slow Cooker Ham image

This recipe has become, hands-down, my favorite ham! This has replaced our Christmas Ham and makes the entire house smell amazing! There is nothing like coming home with this ham cooking! Experiment with the amounts of seasonings to your liking. I prefer more nutmeg but some prefer less nutmeg and more maple syrup!

Provided by REINEJESSICA

Categories     Main Dish Recipes     Pork     Ham     Whole

Time 10h15m

Yield 12

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 (6 pound) bone-in country ham
30 whole cloves
3 cups apple cider, or as needed
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 tablespoons ground cloves
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 orange's peel

Steps:

  • Press whole cloves into the ham so they are evenly distributed. You may score the ham for easier insertion if you wish. Place the ham in a slow cooker. Pour in apple cider until only about 2 inches of ham is above the surface. Pack the brown sugar on top of the ham, pressing into the cloves. This will get washed away in the next step but any that stays on is a bonus.
  • Pour the maple syrup over the ham. Season the apple cider with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, ground cloves and vanilla. Add the orange peel to the pot. Fill the slow cooker as full as you can with apple cider without going over the fill line. Cover and set to Low. Cook for 8 to 10 hours.

CROCK POT HAM

Crock Pot Ham image

Crock Pot Ham is my favorite holiday recipe, with just 4 simple ingredients and it can be made in ONE POT. This slow cooker ham recipe is made with brown sugar and pineapple, which provides a wonderful sweet and tangy flavor.

Provided by Jessica & Nellie

Categories     dinner     Main Course     Main Dish

Time 4h10m

Number Of Ingredients 4

2-7 lb ham (boneless or bone-in)
1 20 ounce can sliced pineapple
⅓ cup brown sugar
½ tsp ground cloves

Steps:

  • First, while your ham is still in the packaging, place it in the crock pot to see how it fits. You may need to cut it into portions to fit it in the crockpot. Then, unwrap it and either place it whole back in the crockpot or cut it into pieces to fit in the crockpot. You can also choose to pre-slice it if you would like.
  • Next, open the can of sliced pineapple and drain the juice out into a separate bowl. You will use all of the juice so set it aside, do not discard!
  • Then, measure out the 1/3 cup of brown sugar and add it to the bowl with the pineapple juice, whisking to dissolve.
  • After that, add in the 1/2 tsp of ground cloves and whisk to combine. Set juice mixture aside.
  • Now, arrange the slices of pineapple all over the surface of your ham and in between slices if you pre-sliced the ham.
  • If you chose to included cherries, place them inside the center of the pineapples.
  • Lastly, pour the pineapple juice mixture over the entire top of the ham and pineapple slices.
  • Now, place the lid on the crock pot and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours.
  • A 7-10lb ham in the crock pot cooked takes about 4 hours. A bone-In ham will take 5-6 hours to fully heat up. If you have a smaller, 2-4 lb ham, aim for around 2 hours of cooking time.

THE BEST CROCKPOT HAM | SLOW COOKER HAM

The BEST Crockpot Ham | Slow Cooker Ham image

This amazing Crockpot Ham is the BEST slow cooker ham recipe! It's cooked in pineapple juice with a brown sugar glaze featuring Dijon, balsamic vinegar, and honey for an EASY holiday dinner that practically makes itself!

Provided by Samantha Skaggs

Categories     Main Course

Time 5h10m

Number Of Ingredients 8

Fully-cooked ham (approximately 7 to 8 pounds (*see Notes below))
2 cups pineapple juice
2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 1/2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water

Steps:

  • Remove ham from the packaging and discard any flavoring packet. If using a bone-in ham, check the end of the bone for a plastic cap and, if present, discard.
  • Pour the pineapple juice in bottom of a large (6- to 9-quart), oval slow cooker.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the brown sugar, Dijon, balsamic vinegar, and honey into a paste. Spread brown sugar mixture all over ham and place, flat side down, in slow cooker.
  • Cover slow cooker with lid and set to LOW. Cook ham for 4 to 6 hours or until the meat is tender and the internal temperature reaches 140°F. If desired, flip and baste the ham halfway through cooking time and again about an hour before the ham is done.
  • Once ham is done, remove to a platter and tent with foil to keep warm and rest for 15 minutes. Skim any fat and strain the juices from the crock pot into a saucepan. Place the pot on the stove over medium heat and bring the juices to a simmer.
  • In a small bowl, use a fork to stir the cornstarch into the water to make a slurry. Slowly pour the slurry into the pot while whisking the ham juices. Allow the mixture to bubble and thicken for a minute or two, stirring occasionally. If you desire a thicker sauce, you may make and stir in a bit more cornstarch slurry.
  • Serve the ham warm, with the sauce on the side or spooned on top.

COOKING A PRE-COOKED HAM IN THE CROCK POT

Cooking a Pre-Cooked Ham in the Crock Pot image

I met a lady sorting through a bin of hams at the grocery store. I had missed those and she commented they were the best. They were smoked, mostly boneless, butt portions. Well, they were half the price of the sliced one I had in my basket, so I asked her how she cooked it. She wraps the ham in foil and cooks in the crock pot until done. The foil keeps the juices in, she said. So I tried it for Christmas Dinner. Superb.

  • Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours until the internal temperature of the ham is 140°F
  • Remove the foil and drain the juices.

Categories     Slow Cooked

Time 10h10m

Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 lb ham hocks
6 cups chicken stock
8 oz large dice celery
5½ oz or red onions, large dice yellow onions
4 oz large dice carrots
3 cloves minced garlic cloves

  • Once the ham hock has briefly cooled down, debone and peel off its fatty skin. Portion the meat accordingly.
