Chocolate chip cookies in a bar!

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 ¾ cups flour
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
⅔ cup butter (softened)
2 cups brown sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
12 ounces milk chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Sift flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl and set aside.
  • In another bowl combine butter and brown sugar using a mixer until blended.
  • Add eggs, one at a time to sugar mixture, mixing on low in between each addition.
  • Add vanilla and mix well.
  • Add in the flour mixture and mix until combined, then fold in chips and pecans.
  • Lightly spray a 9 x 13 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray and spread batter evenly into dish.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
  • Do not over bake.

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
⅔ cup shortening
2 ¼ cups packed brown sugar
3 eggs
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Melt shortening, stir in brown sugar. Let cool.
  • Beat in the eggs.
  • Add dry ingredients.
  • Add chocolate chips, nuts and vanilla.
  • Pour in 10 x 15-inch pan and bake for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.

Congo Bars are an amped up chocolate chip cookie bar with 2 types of chocolate to make them extra gooey!

1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
3 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks, or chopped chocolate
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper and coat with nonstick spray. Set aside.
  • In the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment mix the butter and the light and dark brown sugars together for 2 minutes on medium speed. Add in the eggs, vanilla, salt and baking powder and mix for an additional minute on medium, scraping the sides of the bowl as necessary.
  • Turn the mixer to low and add in the flour, mixing until just combined.
  • Finally add in both kinds of chocolate and stir to incorporate.
  • Spread the dough into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until the edges are set and lightly golden and the center appears slightly under-baked.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely before cutting.
  • Alternately you can chill the bars before cutting.

  • Pre-heat the oven to 350°F.
  • Sift the flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Set aside.

  • Add the vanilla and mix.
  • Add the flour and mix until combined.
  • Stir in the chips.
  • Coat a 9-inch x 13-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray and spread the batter evenly into the dish.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, then cover the top with foil to avoid over-browning.
  • Bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out with moist crumbs. You will think they are under-done, but they aren't. Make sure you don't overbake!

Steps:

  • Melt the butter and add brown sugar; mix well and cool.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well each time.
  • Add dry ingredients and mix well.
  • Add the nuts and chocolate bits.

1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more baking sheet
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups packed light-brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
3 cups mixed semisweet- and milk-chocolate chips (about 18 ounces)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees, with rack in center. Generously butter a 12-by-17-inch rimmed baking sheet; set aside. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla; mix until well combined. Add flour mixture; beat on low speed until just combined. Beat in chocolate chips.
  • Spread dough on prepared baking sheet. Bake, rotating sheet halfway through, until edges are brown and top is golden, 40 to 45 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack; let cool completely on baking sheet. Use a serrated knife to cut into 1 1/2-by-4-inch bars.
