ULTIMATE COLD RELIEF HOME REMEDY TEA

Ultimate Cold Relief Home Remedy Tea image

If you feel it coming on drink lots of this. It can't hurt, and seems to have some effect clearing nasal passages. You may hate it at first, but by the end of the first cup you may want to make more. Breath the steam in deeply. Drink it as much or as often as possible while fighting off your cold. You can substitute balsamic vinegar for the apple cider vinegar

COLD REMEDY TEA

Cold Remedy Tea image

A spicy light brew that is light on the tea and heavier on the spice, although if you like more tea you can add that. I have made this with lemon juice instead of lime juice as well. It is easy to play around with.

TRENTEN'S GINGER TEA, COLD AND STOMACH REMEDY

Trenten's Ginger Tea, Cold and Stomach Remedy image

This is a tea I make for my 9 year old son. He asks for it when his stomach is bugging him....who am I kidding...he'd drink it everyday if I made it for him. It helps with digestion and all you have to do is look up the beneficial properties of ginger on www.WHF.com or google it. Actually all my kids drink this tea, thanks to T-Bear. Easy and versatile. *Note* .... that 9yr old is now 16 and still drinks it to this day. A few notable additions (depending the illness) have been; -a dash of hot sauce, or cayenne powder. With the cayenne it needs to be added first and whisked to avoid clumps -a pinch (basically one small swipe of a microplane) of fresh garlic -whisk in a pinch of cinnamon and/or nutmeg (usually served with a thin apple wedge) ....apparently a candy cane works well too If I'm making smaller batches and I'm not going to use up all of the ginger before it goes bad, I either vacuum seal/Ziploc bags in portions, and freeze it for future use.

Time 17m

Yield 8 cups, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 fresh gingerroot, chopped into slices
8 cups water
1 teaspoon sugar, sugar substitute, honey, sweetener of your choice. (to taste)

Steps:

  • Add sliced ginger, water, and sugar in pot.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Turn heat off and cover pot and let it steep.
  • Per cup, add favorite flavors.
  • My son adds lemon and lime juice, he doesn't even know how much more beneficial it is for him to add it -- he just likes the flavor.
  • Honey is a great sweetener for this tea.
  • Try it when your kids have a cold or the flu and pair it with 1/8 tsp ascorbid acid (crystalized vitamin C) mixed and dissolved in some fruit juice, 3 times per day and see how fast your kids get better.

  • Meantime, chop your fresh ginger and turmeric into thin slices (no need to peel it), you might want to wear gloves or hold the turmeric very carefully otherwise, it might stain your fingers.
  • Squeeze the juice of 1/2 a lemon into your mug and add in all the other ingredients. The water needs to have cooled down before you add it or it will destroy all the heat sensitive vitamin C.
