SALTED CARAMEL PRETZEL CRUNCH BARS
Shortbread, caramel, pretzels, and chocolate meet to create these completely addicting salted caramel pretzel crunch bars.

- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Line an 8 or 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper with enough overhang on the sides to easily remove the bars from the pan. Set aside.
- Using a handheld or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter on high speed until smooth and creamy - about 1 minute. Add the flour, sugar, salt, egg yolk, and vanilla extract and beat on high speed for 2 minutes until crumbly. Get your hands in there to make the dough come together. Press tightly into prepared pan. Press pretzel pieces evenly on top. Bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool completely before adding the caramel (I stick it in the refrigerator to speed this up).
- Prepare caramel and wait for it to cool until it slightly thickens. Pour/spoon over crust. Allow to cool and set completely before topping with chocolate. Again, I stick it in the refrigerator to speed it up.
- Melt the chocolate and coconut oil in the microwave in 15 second increments, stopping and stirring until completely melted. Pour over cooled caramel. Top with sea salt. Stick in the refrigerator to cool completely.
- Lift the parchment paper out of the pan using the overhang on the sides and cut into squares. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
PRETZEL MAGIC BARS
I found this in the local paper. The original recipe did not have walnuts, but you can't have Magic Bars without walnuts, can you? Omit them if you are not a fan.

Steps:
- Mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter and press in a sprayed 9"x 13" pan.
- Pour half the can of sweetened condensed milk over the crust.
- Layer your pretzels as close together as you like over the condensed milk/crust.
- Sprinkle caramels, chocolate chips, and coconut flakes over the pretzels.
- Add nuts if desired.
- Pour remaining half of sweetened condensed milk on top.
- Optional : Break up some extra pretzels to put on top, with a few extra chocolate chips so you can see all the colors above the condensed milk.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 30 minutes until lightly browned.
- Cool completely before cutting and serving.

- Heat oven to 350. Grease a 13x9 pan.
- In a large bowl, combine butter and cake mix; mix at low speed until well blended. The mixture will be crumbly. Add pretzels and mix well. Press in bottom of pan. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine sugar, corn syrup, and 2 eggs; mix at low speed until well blended. Stir in remaining filling ingredients. Spoon evenly over partially baked crust.
- Return to oven; bake an additional 30 to 40 minutes or until edges are deep golden brown (center will not be set). Cool 10 minutes. Run knife around sides of pan to loosen. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled. Cut into bars. Store in loosely covered container.

CHOCOLATE-COCONUT PRETZELS

- Mix 1 1/2 cups warm water (110 degrees F to 115 degrees F), the yeast and agave in a bowl. Set aside 5 minutes.
- In a food processor fitted with the dough blade, pulse the whole-wheat flour, 2 cups all-purpose flour and the sea salt. Add 1 egg and the yeast mixture and pulse in 10-second intervals until the dough comes together, about 3 pulses. Turn out onto a floured board. Knead 10 to 12 times, adding up to 3/4 cup more flour if the dough is too sticky. Cut the dough into 4 equal portions; cover with a clean towel.
- On a floured board, roll out one piece of dough into a 14-by-11-inch rectangle, 1/4 inch thick, with a shorter side facing you. Spread 1/4 cup Nutella across the middle of the dough. Fold the bottom third of the dough over the Nutella, then sprinkle 1/2 cup coconut over the folded part. Fold the top third of the dough over the coconut. Reroll the dough into a 14-by-11-inch rectangle. Cut into seven 11-by-2-inch strips.
- One at a time, pinch the cut long edges of each strip together and roll into a 12-inch rope with your hands. Transfer the rope to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Grab the ends and bring them toward each other, forming a U shape, then cross the left end over the right end to make a pretzel shape. Cross the left end over the right again to make a twist in the middle.
- Repeat with the remaining 3 pieces of dough dough and the remaining Nutella and coconut, spacing the pretzels 3 inches apart. Set aside for 10 to 15 minutes; preheat the oven to 475 degrees F.
- Beat the remaining egg in a bowl. Mix the sugar, chile powder, cinnamon, cloves and cayenne in another bowl. Brush the pretzels with the egg; sprinkle with the spice mixture. Bake until browned, 16 to 18 minutes, checking on the pretzels every 5 minutes to avoid overbaking.
