Steps:

  • Add frozen meatballs, BBQ sauce, and Coca-Cola to crockpot. Stir well to combine.

1 28-ounce package frozen meatballs
1 bottle BBQ sauce
1 12-ounce can Coca Cola (1 1⁄2 cups)

Steps:

  • Spray the bowl of the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray and add the meatballs.
  • Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over the top of the meatballs.
  • Pour the Coca-Cola over the top.
  • Place the lid on the slow cooker and set to cook on low for 4 hours.
  • When the cooking time is up, turn the slow cooker up to high and allow the sauce to simmer for 30 minutes to thicken.

450 grams Lean Ground Beef, ( 1 pound )
1/2 cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs
1 Egg
1 tablespoon Water
1 small Onion, finely chopped, divided
1/2 teaspoon Salt, divided
1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper, divided
2 teaspoon Fresh Garlic, crushed
1 cup Tomato Sauce, (thick ketch-up)
1 cup Coca-Cola
2 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 Green Bell Pepper, (***See note above recipe in post)

Steps:

  • Pre-heat the oven to 180 deg C (350 deg F) - Spray a 20 x 30cm ( 8 x 12 inch ) oven dish with cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Beef, Bread Crumbs, Egg, Water, half of the chopped Onion, (half of the Green Bell Pepper, if using) half the Salt and half the Black Pepper - mix well and form into balls - place in a single layer on the prepared oven dish.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the remaining Onion, Salt, and Pepper - add the Garlic, Tomato Sauce, Coca-Cola, Worcestershire Sauce and the Green Bell Pepper - pour over the meatballs.
  • Bake 50 - 60 minutes (turning twice) until sauce is bubbly and the meatballs are fully cooked.

Meatballs are roasted, then simmered in a rich barbeque sauce made with cola. These make a great potluck dish.

1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
1 1/4 cups dry breadcrumbs
1 egg
3 tablespoons onions, grated
1 (1 ounce) package dry ranch dressing mix
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
3/4 cup cola
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, grated onion and Ranch dressing mix until well blended.
  • Shape into 1 inch meatballs, and place on a 10x15 inch jellyroll pan, or any baking sheet with sides to catch the grease.
  • Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, turning them over half way through.
  • While the meatballs are roasting, mix together the ketchup, cider vinegar, cola, chopped onion and green pepper in a slow cooker. Season with seasoning salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Remove meatballs from the baking sheet, and place into the sauce in the slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on Low for 3 hours, then remove the lid and cook for an additional 15 minutes before serving.

3 tablespoons grated onion
1 (1 ounce) package dry Ranch-style dressing mix

¾ cup cola-flavored carbonated beverage
½ cup chopped onion
½ cup chopped green bell pepper
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
