BASIL PESTO {WITHOUT GARLIC}
This kid friendly Basil pesto's full of the good stuff: Heart healthy oils, fresh basil, spinach and Pine nuts. Stir it through pasta for an easy delicious mid week meal.

Steps:
- Add spinach, basil and pinenuts to the food processor. Whizz until roughly chopped and combined.
- Add cheese. Mix again until well combined. This is the stage that you decide on the texture of the pesto. I like mine a little chunky.
- Pour half the oil into your mix and pulse once or twice. then add the remaining oil and pulse again. Don't over mix. The oil is just there to bind the sauce together.
- Give your pesto a taste. Add salt and pepper as needed.
CLEAN EATING BASIL SPREAD

Steps:
- Blend basil in a food processor.
- While the food processor is running, pour the olive oil and continue to process until the basil is very finely chopped.
- Add a 1/8 teaspoon sea salt for taste.
- Add lemon juice to prevent discoloring
- Keep refrigerated in glass containers with a tight lid.

- Combine basil leaves, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a food processor or blender. Pulse 3 to 4 times. Slowly pour in canola oil and olive oil and blend until thick and creamy, about 30 seconds. Add additional oil if needed to make the spread smoother.

BASIL SPREAD FOR SANDWICHES
This basil spread is great on sandwiches instead of using plain mayo. The Wholefoods market I go to uses it on some of their sandwiches but I have not made it myself. The recipe comes from their "American Summer Style" recipe booklet. In the booklet it is used on their grilled veggie sandwich but I have had it on their salmon sandwich among many others and it is very good.
