We love using Thousand Island dressing for salads, dips and sandwiches. It can be made with chili sauce or ketchup, but I like chili sauce because it gives the dressing a little kick. Once you've tried this homemade recipe, you'll never go back to bottled. -Angelia Sukala, Williamsburg, Pennsylvania

Ingredients

1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
1/4 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper

Steps:

In a small bowl, whisk all ingredients until blended. Refrigerate two hours before serving.

In a small bowl whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, sugar, vinegar and black pepper. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
