APPLES IN WINE AND CINNAMON SAUCE

Apples in Wine and Cinnamon Sauce image

"This is a good topping for ice cream, over fresh-baked biscuits, or over not-too-sweet cakes. Serve warm or Cold." Thank you Justin Wilson (Justin Wilson's Homegrown Louisiana Cookin'). Do not let the cooking time scare you off...this is pretty good stuff.

  • Over medium heat in a heavy saucepan, melt the margarine, then add the wine and stir in the apples.

  • Lower the heat to a simmer and cover; continue cooking for 2 hours, stirring occasionally until the apples break up.

This 1 is truly Chef Kate recipe inspired. After having made her Natilla De Pina (Pineapple Custard) Recipe #170308 for the 2nd time at DH's request, I used my excess pineapple juice for this new effort & now I'm really hooked on both of them. Enjoy!

CINNAMON APPLE WINE COOLER

Cinnamon Apple Wine Cooler image

Finding this recipe @ Cooks.com was an accident, but I'm convinced it was fated. I orig went looking for Club Soda recipes. I don't buy it, but guests left me a nearly full 2 lt bottle & I do so hate wasting anything. Those who know me well know I'm very fond of wine coolers, already have 2 recipes entered for them & am also esp fond of using red cinnamon candies. I drink only 1 kind of tea - *Apple and Cinnamon Twist Tea* by London Fruit & Herb Co. I add approx 6-8 cinnamon candies for ea cup I brew & did that for this recipe. Altho not a part of the recipe, I liked it & you can choose for yourself whether to try it that way. :-) (Cooking time is the 5 min brew time & cooling time for the tea mixture is not included). *Enjoy* !
