2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, cubed
1/4 cup corn syrup
3 large apples, peeled and chopped
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon apple pie spice
1 loaf (1 pound) day-old cinnamon bread
1/2 cup chopped pecans
10 large eggs
1 cup 2% milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook and stir 2 minutes or until thickened. Set aside., In a small bowl, combine apples, lemon juice, sugar and pie spice. Arrange half of the bread slices in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Top with apples; drizzle with half of the caramel sauce. Sprinkle with pecans; top with remaining bread., In a large bowl, combine eggs, milk, salt and vanilla. Pour over top. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Cover and refrigerate remaining caramel sauce., Remove strata from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 50-55 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting., In a microwave, heat the reserved sauce. Drizzle warm sauce over strata.

2 apples - peeled, cored, and diced
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, divided
1 teaspoon salt
4 eggs
½ cup half-and-half
4 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
3 stale cinnamon bagels, cubed
¼ cup chopped pecans, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
  • Place apples, butter, brown sugar, 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon, and salt into a skillet over medium heat. Saute until sugar bubbles, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
  • Place eggs, half-and-half, cream cheese, and remaining cinnamon into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Scatter cubed bagels, cooked apples, and pecans in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour egg mixture on top, making sure to submerge bagel cubes. Let sit in the refrigerator 8 hours to overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bake in the preheated oven until no liquid remains, 30 to 40 minutes. Serve hot.

1 (1 pound) loaf cinnamon raisin bread, cubed
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, diced
1 cup diced peeled apples
8 eggs
2 ½ cups half-and-half cream
6 tablespoons butter, melted
¼ cup maple syrup

Steps:

  • Coat a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Arrange 1/2 of the cubed raisin bread in the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle the cream cheese evenly over the bread, and top with the apples. If you like extra raisins, add them now. Top with remaining bread.
  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the cream, butter, and maple syrup. Pour over the bread mixture. Cover with plastic wrap, and press down so that all bread pieces are soaked. Refrigerate at least 2 hours.

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups whole milk
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons butter
softened
8 large eggs
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Nutmeg
to taste
An assortment of sliced breads such as cinnamon-strudel
banana-nut and/or English muffins
waffles
cinnamon-raisin
etc.
cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes (enough to fill a 13x9x2 baking dish)
1 cup golden raisins
2 McIntosh apples
cored and coarsely chopped
Pure maple syrup
for serving

Steps:

  • Butter a 13x9x2 glass baking dish
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, vanilla extract, cinnamon and nutmeg
  • Arrange the bread cubes in the bottom of the prepared baking dish then scatter the raisins and apples over top
  • Pour the milk and egg mixture on top of the breads and fruit, pressing down to submerge the breads completely
  • Cover the dish with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least a few hours -- preferably overnight -- to allow the breads to soak up all the milk
  • To bake, position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350F
  • Bake the strata uncovered until puffed and golden, and a knife inserted into its center comes out clean, about 1 hour
  • Let stand for 10 minutes
  • Cut the strata into squares and serve with maple syrup

1/3 c plus 2 tablespoons sugar divided
4 eggs
3/4 c milk
1 Tbsp maple syrup
9 slice cinnamon raisin bread
2 c chopped apple ( i used 1 honey crisp) you can use what ever kind you want.
1 tsp cinnamon divided
1/4 c raisins
3-4 oz cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla
2-3 Tbsp melted butter

Steps:

  • 1. Butter a casserole dish. In a bowl whisk the milk, vanilla, sugar, eggs, maple Syrup, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon together. Set aside.
  • 2. Rip bread in to pieces like you would for stuffing. Toss in egg mixture with the apples and raisins. Coat evenly.
  • 3. Pour in to a casserole dish. Drizzle melted butter over it. Mix 2 TB sugar with a 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Sprinkle over casserole. Dot with pieces of cream cheese. Cover with saran and put in fridge at least 3 hours or over night .
  • 4. Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes, or until lightly browned. I drizzle a little more butter over it before serving. Serve right away after removing from oven. Dust with powdered sugar, or serve with syrup.

2 cup milk
0.25 teaspoon salt
0.25 teaspoon almond extract
1 21 ounce can apple pie filling
0.5 cup slivered almonds, toasted
Ground cinnamon or powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Spread bread pieces in a greased 3-quart rectangular baking dish; set aside. In a large bowl whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and almond extract. Stir in apple pie filling and half of the almonds. Carefully pour apple mixture over the bread in baking dish. Press bread pieces down into the egg mixture with a wooden spoon. Sprinkle with remaining almonds. Cover and chill for 2 to 24 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Bake, uncovered, about 50 minutes or until the internal temperature registers 170 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving. Lightly sprinkle cinnamon or sift powdered sugar over the top before serving. Makes 8 servings.

3 Ontario apples, peeled, cored and chopped (about 1/2-inch pieces)
3 tbsp (45 mL) brown sugar
1/2 tsp (2 ml) ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp (2 mL) freshly grated lemon zest
8 cups (2 L) cubed day-old egg bread (challah or brioche)
1 1/2 cup (375 mL) 10% cream
3 eggs
1/3 cup (75 mL) granulated sugar
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
Pinch salt
2 tbsp (30 mL) brown sugar
2 tbsp (30 mL) melted butter
1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped toasted pecans
1 cup (250 mL) plain 0% Greek yogurt
2 tbsp (30 mL) maple syrup

Steps:

  • Melt butter in large skillet set over medium heat. Add apples, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 12 minutes or until apples are soft and tender. Stir in lemon zest. Cool completely.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease 9-inch (22 cm) square baking dish. In a large bowl, whisk cream with eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla and salt. Add bread, toss to coat then let stand for 15 to 20 minutes or until bread has absorbed the egg mixture.
