Christmas Tree! Rocky Road Treat image

This is from a recipe in the Women's Weekly magazine that I have modified slightly! It is just gorgeous and very well received on Christmas Day! Happy Holidays!

Categories     Dessert

Time 15m

Yield 20 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

750 g milk chocolate
500 g marshmallows
150 g unsalted peanuts
100 g Turkish Delight
200 g dark chocolate
100 g white chocolate

Steps:

  • Create a large cone shape out of a large piece of cardboard, and tape together, line with baking paper so that it doesn't stick to cardboard. Make sure the small cone end is secure so that no mixture can escape.
  • Melt milk chocolate in the microwave, 1 minute to 30 seconds at a time until smooth and lump free.
  • Add chopped marshmallows (pink & white) and chopped turkish delight, and peanuts.
  • Mix together well and pour into the cone shape, and pack it down.
  • Put the cone upside down, with cone tip down, into a large vase and allow to set overnight.
  • Remove cardboard and baking paper and place upright on a platter.
  • Melt the dark chocolate and ice the cone. Allow to set.
  • Melt the white chocolate and drizzle from the top down.
  • Place an angel or star shape on top and wrap christmas tinsel around the tree.
  • Chop to serve! Lovely flavour if you add liquor or essence.

  • Using a firm piece of paper or cardboard make a cone by cutting out a semi circle or the corner of the cardboard and rolling it into a cone. Secure with tape. Just make sure the tip doesn't have a gap as this will allow chocolate to leak from the bottom. Sit it upright in a mug or a glass and set aside.
  • Melt the dark chocolate in a medium bowl over a double boiler or in the microwave. Cool slightly
  • Put all of the filling ingredients except the melted chocolate into a bowl and combine well. Add them to the chocolate and stir till just combined.
  • Spoon the chocolate mixture into your mould. Starting with a little of the chocolate without bits if you can and drizzle into the point. Then add the rest of the mixture pushing down gently so there are no spaces. try to make the surface flat and even to save cutting and evening it later. Refrigerate till firm standing in the cup or glass, overnight in the refrigerator is best.
