My grandmother made these haystack cookies and gave them to my cousin Vonnie and me when our parents didn't want us to have any more sweets. -Christine Schwester, Divide, Colorado

Number Of Ingredients 3

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 package (10 to 11 ounces) butterscotch chips
4 cups crispy chow mein noodles

Steps:

  • In a microwave or large metal bowl over simmering water, melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips; stir until smooth. Gently stir in noodles., Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper-lined baking sheets. Refrigerate 10-15 minutes or until set.

1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c butterscotch chips
1/2 c chow mein noodles
1/2 c salted peanuts, optional

Steps:

  • 1. Melt both kinds of chips together in the microwave.
  • 2. Stir in chow mein noodles and peanuts.
  • 3. Spoon onto wax paper and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Chow Mein Clusters (No-Bake) image

Sweet and salty makes these the perfect combination! Serving is only estimated, it will depend on the size of the clusters. Can use butterscotch chips in place of the peanut butter. Chow mein noodles can be found in the Asian section of any grocerey store.

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup peanut butter chips
1 1/4 cups dry chow mein noodles
1 cup salted peanuts

Steps:

  • In the microwave melt the chocolate and peanut butter chips, stir until smooth.
  • Add in the chow mein noodles and peanuts; mix until coated.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a baking sheet that has been lined with waxed paper.
  • Refrigerate until set (about 2-3 hours).
  • **NOTE* these will easily pick up refrigerator odors if stored in the fridge so place in a tightly covered container.
