Chop it up with an incredible BBQ beef sandwich. This Chopped BBQ Beef Sandwich is made with Heinz Kansas City BBQ Sauce for a sweet and smoky flavor.

1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 Tbsp. HEINZ Worcestershire Sauce
1 boneless beef chuck roast (3 lb.)
1 cup beef broth
6 slices Texas toast white sandwich bread, grilled
3/4 cup HEINZ BBQ Sauce Kansas City Sweet & Smoky
1/2 cup small white onion slices, separated into rings
1/2 cup HEINZ Sweet and Spicy Pickle Chips

Steps:

  • Heat grill to medium-high heat.
  • Mix sugar and Worcestershire sauce until blended; rub evenly onto both sides of roast.
  • Grill roast 3 to 4 min. on each side or until seared on both sides. Meanwhile, heat oven to 325°F.
  • Transfer roast to shallow pan sprayed with cooking spray. Pour beef broth over roast; cover.
  • Bake 2 to 2-1/2 hours or until roast is done (160°F). Remove roast from oven; let stand 10 min. Transfer roast to cutting board, reserving cooking liquid in pan; chop meat into 1-inch pieces.
  • Skim fat from surface of cooking liquid; discard fat. Return chopped meat to cooking liquid in pan; mix lightly.
  • Place 1 toast slice on each of 6 serving plates; top with meat. Drizzle barbecue sauce over sandwiches; top with onions and pickles.

1 boneless beef chuck roast (3 pounds)
1-1/2 cups ketchup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
12 sandwich buns, split
Sliced onions, dill pickles and pickled jalapenos, optional

Steps:

  • Cut roast in half and place in a 3- or 4-qt. slow cooker. In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, liquid smoke if desired and seasonings. Pour over beef., Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until meat is tender. Remove meat; cool slightly. Skim fat from cooking liquid., Shred beef with two forks; return to the slow cooker. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until heated through. Using a slotted spoon, place 1/2 cup on each bun. Serve with onions, pickles and jalapenos if desired. Freeze option: Place individual portions of cooled meat mixture in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Microwave, covered, on high in a microwave-safe dish until heated through, gently stirring and adding a little broth / water if necessary.

4 pounds boneless chuck roast
1 onion, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
12 ounces chile sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon mustard powder
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
3 cloves garlic, minced

Steps:

  • Place roast in a large covered pan. Roast at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 2 hours, or until the meat falls apart and shreds easily.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, and saute until onions become translucent.
  • Stir in vinegar and chili sauce. Fill empty chili sauce bottle with water, shake, and pour liquid into skillet. Mix in brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper, and garlic. Cook sauce over low heat, stirring often, until thickened.
  • With two forks, shred roasted beef. Stir meat into the sauce in the skillet, and simmer for 30 minutes.

7 pound pork shoulder, bone in
1 pint Al's barbecue sauce, recipe follows
1 gallon apple cider vinegar
1 (28-ounce) bottle ketchup
22 ounces light brown sugar
1/4 cup garlic powder
1/4 cup salt
1/2 cup crushed red pepper
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Wrap pork in aluminum foil and place in a broiler pan. Cook for 7 hours, about 1 hour per pound. Remove from oven and let stand for 1 hour.
  • Wearing heavy rubber gloves, pull skin from the meat and discard. Remove most of the fat and all of the bone. Cut meat into 8-ounce chunks and place in large pan.
  • Place meat on a charcoal fire and cook, covered, for another 30 to 45 minutes, until well smoked, turning meat over every 10 to 15 minutes. Pour barbecue sauce over meat during the last 10 to 15 minutes of cooking.
  • Remove meat from the grill and chop into bite size pieces. Serve with additional barbecue sauce if desired.
  • Mix all ingredients in a 6-quart stainless steel pot. Bring to a boil, then simmer, about 15 minutes. Turn off heat and let stand, about 30 minutes. Sauce can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.

1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup molasses
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 boneless beef chuck roast (3 pounds)
14 sesame seed hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first 11 ingredients. Cut roast in half; place in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Pour ketchup mixture over roast. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until meat is tender., Remove meat and shred with two forks. Skim fat from cooking juices. Return meat to slow cooker; heat through.
