CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER FROGS



Chocolate Peanut Butter Frogs image

A friend of mine made these awhile back and I thought they were so cute and the kids would just love them. So she shared the recipe with me.

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 semi-sweet chocolate baking squares
1 tablespoon butter
12 chocolate sandwich style cookies
3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
24 minuature pretzel twists
24 M&M's

Steps:

  • Place chocolate and butter in saucepan, cook over low heat until melted, stirring frequently, set aside.
  • Spread bottom of each cookie with 1 teaspoon of peanut butter, dip into melted chocolate mixture, immediately press 2 pretzel twists on chocolate for frog legs with wide part of prezels facing outward. Place, pretzel side down, on wax paper lined cookie sheet.
  • Attach M & M's for eyes using remaining chocolate mixture or peanut butter.
  • Let stand until chocolate is set.

1/2 cup margarine
2 cups sugar
6 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup coconut
3 cups quick oats

Steps:

  • Mix, milk, margarine, sugar& cocoa in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Add vanilla, coconut, & oats, mix thoroughly and drop from tablespoon onto wax paper or cookie sheets.
  • Chill until set & enjoy!

1/2 cup butter, Melted
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup milk
5 tablespoons cocoa
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup coconut
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Melt Butter in deep sauce pan.
  • Combine both sugars, milk and cocoa into melted butter.
  • Boil for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Mix in Rolled oates, coconut and vanilla.
  • Drop by spoonfulls to wax paper. Let set about 20 minutes.
  • Cookies turn out best when made on a dry day.

Attention grabbing name isn't it!? We call them frogs where I live but I have heard of them referred to as Macaroons, No-bakes and even "blots". No matter what the name, they are DELICIOUS!Cook time includes time in the fridge.

1/2 cup cocoa
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup flaked coconut
3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats

Steps:

  • Line two baking sheets with waxed paper.
  • In a large saucepan, stir together cocoa, sugar, milk and butter.
  • Boil for 5 minutes, then remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract, coconut and oats. Combine well.
  • Drop by tablespoonfulls onto prepared cookie sheets.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour or until set.
  • Keep refrigerated.

2 bags semi-sweet chocolate chips (4-6 cups)
cooking spray

Steps:

  • Slowly melt chocolate in a double boiler over low heat, stirring with a wooden spoon.
  • Lightly spray the molds with non-stick spray.
  • Spoon the melted chocolate into the molds and refrigerate until hard.
  • Remove the frogs and wrap them in cellophane.
  • Repeat until the chocolate is all used.
