8 ounces semisweet chocolate
18 pretzel rods (from a 10-ounce bag)

Steps:

  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with waxed paper; set aside. Break semisweet chocolate into small pieces; place in a microwave-safe dish. Microwave on high in 30-second increments, stirring after each, until chocolate is just melted, about 1 minute. Remove; stir until smooth.
  • One at a time, roll one end of pretzel rods into melted chocolate, and, using a spoon, coat each 3/4 of the way up.
  • Place pretzels on prepared baking sheet. Refrigerate until set, about 15 minutes.

1 package pretzel rods (10 ounces)
12 ounces chocolate (milk or dark )
6 ounces chocolate candy melts (white or milk )
14 ounces caramel squares (unwrapped)
1 tablespoon light cream

Steps:

  • Line a large sheet or pan with parchment paper.
  • Combine the caramel squares and light cream in a medium microwave safe bowl.
  • Microwave the mixture 2-3 minutes (in 30-second increments, stirring after every 30 seconds) until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
  • Pour the caramel mixture into a tall glass measuring cup or mug. Dip each pretzel rod ⅔ of the way to cover in caramel. Place on parchment paper to cool.
  • Once the caramel is set, melt the chocolate in the microwave on 40% power for 45 seconds. Stir and continue microwaving at 20-second intervals until just melted. Stir until smooth.
  • Dip the caramel-coated pretzels into the melted chocolate and place on parchment paper to cool. (You may want to pour the chocolate into a tall glass measuring cup or mug.)
  • Melt the chocolate melts in a small zippered bag and snip the corner off. Drizzle over chocolate. Add favorite decorations if desired.
  • Store in an airtight container. Yield: about 2 ½ dozen.

Steps:

  • Melt white chocolate in the top of a double boiler, stirring constantly.
  • Dip pretzel halfway into the white chocolate, completely covering half of the pretzel. Roll in topping if desired, and lay on wax paper.

Steps:

  • Put chocolate in small bowl.
  • Microwave for 35 seconds.
  • The chips will still look whole, DO NOT MICROWAVE ANY LONGER! IT WILL BURN, instead stir for 20 seconds and all lumps will be smooth.
  • Lay out a piece of foil.
  • Dip pretzels with fingers in chocolate scrape off excess and lay on foil.
  • Wait 30 minutes to cool (Better if not put in fridge or freezer, they melt when they come out).

Chopped nuts, for garnish, optional

Coconut, for garnish, optional
Crushed cookies, for garnish, optional

Steps:

  • Melt chocolate in double boiler over medium heat on stove top. Using tongs, or your fingers, quickly dip pretzels in chocolate allowing the excess to run off. Place dipped pretzels on waxed paper lined cookie sheets. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, colored sugars or other toppings. Allow to harden. You may need to refrigerate for a while to help this along. Once hardened, remove from sheets and store in a cool location, with waxed paper between layers.
  • Tip: Package pretzels in clear cellophane bags or in vase for festive gift giving!

50 miniature pretzel twists (or 24 pretzel rods)
12 ounces chocolate chips or candy melts (milk, white, dark or any combination)
1/2 cup sprinkles
1 tablespoon shortening (ONLY if using chocolate chips, you do not need to add shortening to candy melts.)

Steps:

  • Place the chocolate or candy melts in a microwave safe bowl. If you're using chocolate chips, add the shortening to the bowl. You do not need to use shortening if you're using candy melts.
  • Microwave in 30 second increments or until chocolate is melted. Stir until smooth.
  • If you're dipping pretzel rods, pour the chocolate into a tall glass and dip each rod halfway into the chocolate. Tap the rod against the side of the glass to remove excess chocolate, then coat each rod in sprinkles and set on parchment to dry.
  • If you're dipping pretzel twists, use a fork to coat each pretzel in chocolate, then tap the fork against the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate. Use a toothpick to slide each pretzel off the fork onto parchment paper, then top each pretzel with sprinkles.
  • Let the pretzels sit until dry. Serve, or store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

1/2 cup crushed candy canes (sprinkles, chopped nuts, etc)

Steps:

  • Melt the chocolate over medium heat in a double boiler on the stove. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Once it's melted, stir in any flavoring as desired.
  • Remove from the heat. Dip the pretzels into the melted chocolate using a fork underneath. Let the excess drip off.
  • Place on the parchment paper to set completely. Before they set, sprinkle on any toppings you want, crushed candy canes, sprinkles ,etc.
  • Once set, store in a closed container between layers of waxed paper at room temperature for up to a week.l Freeze in freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
