1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, room temp
2 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
12 oz semi sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees 1. Place the butter, white sugar and brown sugar in a large bowl and cream together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix after each. Add the vanilla. 2. Add the dry ingredients and mix until blended. Stir in the chocolate chips. Bake for 10-12 minutes

2 teaspoons hot water
½ teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
