SUPER BOWL SPICY PRETZELS

Super Bowl Spicy Pretzels image

After trying a bunch of different tries at making spicy pretzels I finally came up this one. It goes great as a tv snack, and the heat at the end really finishes well, enjoy!

Provided by Craigs Recipes

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 2h5m

Yield 30 bowls, 30 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 (15 ounce) bags old dutch thins fat free pretzels
1/2 cup vegetable oil or 1/2 cup canola oil
4 teaspoons garlic powder
4 teaspoons lemon pepper
2 (1 ounce) packages hidden valley ranch dressing mix
4 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat Oven at 250º.
  • Get your basic turkey roaster pan and spray the inside with no-stick cooking spray.
  • Grab handfuls of pretzels and place them evenly in the roaster, try to avoid dumping in all the excess salt and broken pieces on the bottom of the bag.
  • Hand mix together all other ingredients in a seperate bowl until all ingredients are mixed up really well.
  • Pour this mixture evenly over the pretzels in the pan.
  • Place the lid on and grasp the handles and lid tight and shake the pretzels so that they all are evenly coated.
  • Place in the oven for 2 hours, stirring and shaking every 30 minutes.
  • Make sure you stir up the pretzels on the bottom of the pan otherwise they will get burnt. When they are done cooking, I usually set the roaster out and let them cool for 15-20 minutes. After that I place them in a large bowl for serving.

SPICY PRETZELS

Spicy Pretzels image

My daughter got this recipe from her friends mom . The small pretzels work the best. And for some reason , the oil definitely makes a difference! We've made them with Crisco, and we've made them with other brands, and they don't taste the same! *** seems to be too hot for a few people , PLEASE ADJUST the cayenne pepper if you don't like HOT***

SPICY CHRISTMAS PICKLES (NO COOK)

Spicy Christmas Pickles (No Cook) image

These are an easy icebox pickle that are spicy and sweet and stays crisp. Why are they called Christmas pickles? Because they are bright green or red!!! I usually make green and red to liven up the holiday relish tray. I also make these pickles without the food coloring and they are a family favorite throughout the year. I found the recipe years ago in a local electric co-op magazine.

Provided by Susie D

Categories     Low Protein

Time P7DT15m

Yield 94 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 gallon of whole dill pickle (I use Vlasic)
1 head garlic, peeled
5 lbs granulated sugar
1 (5 ounce) bottle Tabasco sauce (regular)
1 (1 ounce) bottle liquid red food coloring (coloring is optional) or 1 (1 ounce) bottle liquid green food coloring (coloring is optional)

Steps:

  • Drain pickles and rinse gallon jar.
  • Slice pickles into 3/4" or 1" rounds, drain again.
  • Into jar layer sliced pickles, peeled garlic, and sugar; add NO liquid.
  • Pour on the whole bottle of tabasco sauce, NOTE: I have used the 2oz size when I wanted a less spicy pickle and I think tabasco is the only brand of hot sauce to use in this recipe.
  • Add bottle of red OR green food coloring if desired.
  • Cap jar and shake.
  • Store in icebox and shake it daily to mix the ingredients and dissolve the sugar.
  • In about a week you will have brightly colored, spicy pickles!
  • Note: as these marinate over the week they shrink, so the yield will be less than a gallon.
