Steps:
- Heat oil in stockpot over medium-high heat.
- Add garlic and saute 30 seconds or until lightly browned.
- Add greens and saute 5 minutes, or until wilted.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and cook 45 minutes.

The secret to great tasting greens is salted pork called pepper jewl. Pepper jewl is the part of the pig around the neck and is salted and seasoned with pepper. You can find it in most urban neighborhood markets.

Steps:
- Place pepper jewl in a large pot and brown on both sides.
- Remove cooked pepper jewl from pot and set aside for later.
- Add 4 cups hot water, salt, pepper,crushed red pepper flakes,olive oil, sugar and red wine vinegar, and bring to a boil.
- Add half the turnip greens, cover and cook for 10 minutes until greens have cooked down a little.
- Add rest of greens. Stir well, cover and cook for 40 minutes over medium heat.
- Stir two or three times while greens cook.
- Add pepper jewel back to pot.

- Wash greens thoroughly, removing any grit and large stems.
- Place greens in dutch oven with water and salt.
- Bring to a boil and cook for 30 minutes uncovered.
- Add vinegar, sugar, and bacon drippings.
- Reduce heat to simmer and cook at least 1 hour covered.
- Fry bacon and crumble.
- Saute chopped onion until tender.
- Add bacon and onion and cook an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve with vinegar flavored with whole red pepper.

- Wash the greens in cold water.
- Chop Pork Bacon into 1/2" cubes.
- In a large pot add your pork bacon and bacon grease. Cook until bacon starts to turn brown.
- Add water into the pot with the pork bacon. Bring to a boil.
- Add green into the pot. As the greens cook down add the red pepper pods, salt and black pepper.
- Cook to your desire tenderness.
