I looked high and low for the perfect blondies. I love them chewy not cake like and the walnuts are such a good accent to the brown sugar.

1/2 cup Butter Flavor Crisco
1 tablespoon milk
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Combine Crisco and milk in large microwave safe bowl.
  • Microwave approx 1 minute at 50%. Remove and stir. Repeat as needed till melted.
  • Stir in sugar and then add egg and stir quickly.
  • Combine dry ingredients and mix in w/ sugar mixture.
  • Add nuts and vanilla.
  • Spread in 8 x 8 greased pan.
  • Cook 350° for 25 minutes.

¼ teaspoon salt

⅓ cup confectioners' sugar for decoration

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Line one 9x13 inch pan with greased parchment paper.
  • Combine the cocoa, melted butter, sugar, eggs, salt , flour and vanilla. Mix until well combined. It should be very thick and sticky.
  • Spread mixture into the prepared pan. Bake at 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) for 30 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

2 large eggs + 1 egg yolk (room temperature preferred)

2 teaspoons cornstarch
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
⅔ cup white chocolate chips ((115g))
1 cup chopped walnuts ((130g))

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F (175C) and line a 13x9 pan with parchment paper**
  • Combine melted butter and sugar in a large bowl and stir well.
  • Add eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla extract and stir until completely combined. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually stir dry ingredients into wet until completely combined.
  • Fold in white chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  • Spread blondie batter into prepared pan and transfer to oven.
  • Bake on 350F (175C) for 25-30 minutes*** or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few fudgy crumbs.

That is why we took things in the opposite direction for this, and we've made these gooey and chewy brownies. They're filled with a deliciously sticky toffee sauce which may make them seem like they're undercooked but have no worries. It's delicious!

10 ounces of cake mix
3 eggs
¼ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup milk
7 ounces of toffees
1 cup unsweetened condensed milk
2 ounces of chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Add the cake mix in a large bowl.
  • Add the eggs, vegetable oil, and milk. Whisk with a fork and set up your mixer. Mix until smooth.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F/175 degrees C.
  • Pour 3/4 of the mixture in squared baking dish, around 8X8 inches, lined with parchment paper.
  • Slide the tray into the oven for the next 35 minutes.
  • In the meantime, heat a saucepan over low heat, and add the toffees and condensed milk.
  • Bring to a boil and melt the toffees completely, mixing them with the milk. Take the pan away from the heat when smooth and creamy.
  • Take the brownie out of the oven and pour the liquid mixture over it. Top it with the chocolate chips and the remaining brownie mixture.
  • Slide the tray into the oven for the next 30 minutes at 350 degrees F/175 degrees C.
