2 cans (8 oz. each) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls, divided
2 pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar, divided
1 egg white
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can (20 oz.) cherry pie filling
3 Tbsp. milk

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Unroll 1 can crescent dough into 2 rectangles; press onto bottom of 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray, firmly pressing perforations and seams together to seal.
  • Beat cream cheese, 3/4 cup sugar, egg white and vanilla with mixer until blended; spread onto crust. Cover with pie filling.
  • Unroll remaining can of crescent dough into 2 rectangles; pat into 13x9-inch rectangle, firmly pressing perforations and seams together seal. Place over pie filling.
  • Bake 25 to 30 min. or until golden brown; cool slightly.
  • Mix milk and remaining sugar until blended; drizzle over dessert.

1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
1 cup warm 2% milk (110° to 115°)
3/4 cup shortening, divided
1/3 cup sugar
3 large eggs, room temperature, divided use
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon each ground mace, lemon extract and vanilla extract
4 to 4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
GLAZE:
1-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 to 3 tablespoons 2% milk
1/3 cup chopped almonds

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add the milk, 1/4 cup shortening, sugar, 2 eggs, salt, mace, extracts and 2 cups of flour; beat until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Punch dough down. On a large floured surface, roll dough out to a 24x16-in. rectangle. Dot half of the dough with 1/4 cup shortening; fold dough lengthwise. Fold the dough 3 times lengthwise, then 2 times widthwise, each time dotting with some of the remaining shortening. Place dough in a greased bowl; cover and let rise 20 minutes., On a floured surface, roll dough into a 16x15-in. rectangle. Cut into 8x3/4-in. strips; coil into spiral shapes, tucking ends underneath. Place in 2 greased 15x10x1-in. baking pans. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Beat remaining egg. Make a depression in the center of each roll; brush with egg. Fill with 1 tablespoon pie filling. Bake at 375° for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.Combine confectioners' sugar, vanilla and milk; drizzle over rolls. Sprinkle with almonds.

2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup cold butter
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, separated
1 cup cornflakes
4 to 5 cups diced fresh or frozen rhubarb, thawed
1-1/2 cups plus 1 tablespoon sugar, divided
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
GLAZE:
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/2 to 2 teaspoons milk

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt; cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in the milk and egg yolk. Divide dough in half. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a 13-in. x 9-in. x rectangle. Place one rectangle in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with cornflakes., In a large bowl, combine rhubarb and 1-1/2 cups sugar. Stir in pie filling and vanilla; spread over cornflakes. Top with the remaining pastry. Cut slits in the top. , In a small bowl, lightly beat egg white; brush over pastry. Sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake at 350° for 50-55 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Cool on a wire rack., In a small bowl, combine the glaze ingredients; drizzle over bars. Store in the refrigerator.

This easy Cherry Danish is made from puff pastry dough filled with a sweetened cream cheese mixture and topped with cherry pie filling.

1 large egg
1 tsp water
1 egg yolk
8 oz cream cheese (softened)
3 tbsp sugar (plus some for dusting)
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 (17.3 oz) package frozen puff pastry sheets (thawed)
1 can cherry pie filling (optional)

Steps:

  • Prepare two baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Crack the whole egg into a small bowl. Add the water and beat together. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, add egg yolk, cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla. Mix the ingredients together using an electric mixer on medium high speed.
  • On a clean surface, spread out both puff pastry sheets. Cut each sheet into 4 even squares. Make the squares into octagons by folding over each corner about 1 inch.
  • Add a dollop of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each of the octagon shapes. (about 2 tbsp each). Keep the cream cheese in a dollop shape. Don't spread it out.
  • Optional Cherry topping: Add cherry pie filling on top of the dollop of cream cheese.
  • Dip a pastry brush into the egg/water mixture. Brush the top of the exposed puff pasty with the mixture. Add a dusting of sugar over the exposed pastry.
  • Bake for 15-27 minutes until the pastry is an even golden brown. Cool and serve.

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, divided

1 (20 ounce) can cherry pie filling
3 tablespoons milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Unroll 1 of the cans of crescent dough into 2 long rectangles.
  • Place in greased 13x9-inch baking pan; press onto bottom of pan to form crust, pressing seams together to seal.
  • Beat cream cheese, 3/4 cup of the sugar, egg white and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.
  • Spread onto crust and then cover the cream cheese mixture with pie filling.
  • Unroll remaining can of crescent dough; separate into 2 long rectangles.
  • Press out to form a 13x9-inch rectangle, pressing seams together to seal.
  • Place over pie filling to form top crust.
  • Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown; cool slightly.
  • Gradually add milk to remaining 3/4 cup sugar, beating with wire whisk until well blended.
  • Drizzle over warm dessert.
  • Cut into 24 rectangles to serve.
  • Store leftover dessert in refridgerator.
