One of my grandchildrens favorite desserts. Preparation time is approx., does not include refrigeration time.

1 (6 ounce) package cherry gelatin
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 1/4 cups carbonated lemon-lime beverage, chilled
whipped topping (optional)

Steps:

  • In a bowl, dissolve gelatin in water.
  • Stir in pie filling; mix well.
  • Slowly stir in soda (mixture will foam).
  • Pour into an 8-inch square dish.
  • Cover and refrigerate until firm.
  • Cut into squares.
  • Garnish with whipped topping if desired.

These are an old childhood favorite of mine. I had these each holiday, I think my aunt made them. They look festive too.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 cup sugar
1 cup softened butter
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg
2 cups flour
3/4 cup coarsely chopped candied red cherries
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup coarsely chopped green candy covered plain chocolate candies
1 cup powdered sugar
5 -6 teaspoons warm water

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 300.
  • Mix sugar, butter, almond extreact and egg in a large bowl until well blended.
  • Stir in flour, 1/2 cup cherries, and salt.
  • Spread in ungreased 15 1/2 x 10 jelly roll pan.
  • Sprinkle on top the remaining cherries and the candies; press lightly.
  • Bake until edges are very light brown, 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Cool completely.
  • Make glaze by mixing powdered sugar and water until smooth and of desired consistency.
  • Drizzle squares with glaze.

TOPPING
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

Steps:

  • 1. In large bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in cold water, lemon juice, almond extract and pie filling. Pour into ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) baking dish. Refrigerate until firm, about 4 hours.2. In small bowl, combine all topping ingredients beat until smooth. Carefully spread over firm gelatin. 1 (3 ounce) package cherry gelatin
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 (3 ounce) package lemon gelatin
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 cup miniature marshmallow
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped
2 tablespoons chopped pecans

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, bring 1 cup water to a boil. Stir in cherry gelatin until dissolved. Add pie filling; mix well. Pour into an 11 x 7 x 2 inch dish. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until set.
  • In a saucepan, bring remaining water to a boil. Stir in lemon gelatin until dissolved. In a small mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. Beat in lemon gelatin and pineapple. Cover and refrigerate for 45 minutes.
  • Fold in the marshmallows and whipped cream. Spoon over cherry layer; sprinkle with pecans. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until set.

2 packages (3 ounces each) cherry gelatin, divided
1-1/2 cups boiling water, divided
2 cups cold water, divided
1 can (15 ounces) pitted dark sweet cherries, drained
2 cups whipped topping

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve 1 package of gelatin in 3/4 cup boiling water. Add 1 cup cold water; stir. Refrigerate until partially set, about 1 hour. Stir in cherries. Pour into a 7-cup mold coated with cooking spray. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm., In a small bowl, dissolve remaining gelatin in remaining boiling water. Stir in remaining cold water. Refrigerate until partially set, about 1 hour. Fold in whipped topping. Carefully spread over top. Refrigerate for 4 hours or until firm. Unmold onto a serving platter.

Fold the maraschino gelatin mixture into the whipped cream and immediately pour over the graham crust in the pan. Quickly add the Jello cubes and press them into the mixture with the back of a spatula.
