1 prepared angel food cake (8 to 10 ounces), cut into 1-inch cubes
1 can (20 ounces) reduced-sugar cherry pie filling
1-1/3 cups cold fat-free milk
1 package (1 ounce) sugar-free instant vanilla pudding mix
1/2 cup reduced-fat sour cream
1 carton (8 ounces) frozen reduced-fat whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • Line an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. dish with cake cubes. Cover with pie filling. , In a bowl, whisk milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes. Stir in sour cream. Carefully spread over pie filling; top with whipped topping. , Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving. Refrigerate leftovers.

Steps:

  • Pour cake mix in bowl, stir in the can of pie filling until blended. Pour into 9x13" lightly sprayed pan. Bake @350 35 to 40 minutes or until done in center.

1 -10 1/2 ounce angel food cake (Bar Style)
1 -20 ounce cherry pie filling
1 cup slivered almonds
1 teaspoon almond extract
whipped cream (I used Redi Whip)

Steps:

  • Slice Angel Food Bar long way into 3 equal slices put in dish large enough to hold.
  • Add almond extract to can of Cherry Pie Filling stir
  • Spoon out 1/3 of pie filling on bottom layer of Angel Food Bar, sprinkle 1/2 c almonds.
  • Place next layer Angel Bar spread with cherry pie filling (no almonds).
  • Repeat final top with cherry pie filling and almonds. Refrigerate.
  • WAIT TILL RIGHT BEFORE SERVING TO USE THE REDI WHIP AROUND TOP OF CAKE sprinkle with other 1/2 C almonds.

1 box (1 lb 2.25 oz) Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ yellow cake mix
3/4 cup cold butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup sliced almonds
2/3 cup cherry preserves (from 12-oz jar)
1/3 cup dried cherries, coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon almond extract

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom only of 8-inch square pan with cooking spray.
  • In large bowl, place cake mix. Cut in butter, using pastry blender (or pulling 2 table knives through mix in opposite directions), until mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Set aside 3/4 cup crumb mixture. Add egg to remaining crumb mixture in bowl, stirring just until blended. Press mixture in bottom of pan. Bake 15 minutes or until light golden brown around edges.
  • Meanwhile, in small bowl, mix coconut, almonds and reserved crumb mixture; set aside. In small microwavable bowl, microwave preserves on High 45 to 60 seconds or until warm and slightly melted. Stir in dried cherries and almond extract. Spoon warm preserves over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with reserved coconut mixture.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes longer or until golden. Cool on cooling rack 1 hour. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows.

With a busy family and no one knowing just who might be over to eat, this is a quick and easy great tasting bar dessert

1 cup butter, softened
1 ¾ cups white sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 pinch salt
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the dough and spread the rest into the bottom of the prepared pan. Cover this layer evenly with cherry pie filling. Drop the rest of the dough by spoonfuls on top of the cherry layer and spread to cover the best you can.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until top is golden. Frost with a confectioners' glaze when cool for sweeter bars. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
