- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in extract. Fold in almonds and cherries; set aside. , Unroll crescent rolls on an ungreased baking sheet; overlap long sides to make at 12-in. square. Press perforations to seal. Spread the cream cheese mixture down center third of square to within 1 in. of top and bottom; fold top and bottom edge over filling. Bring long sides over filling and overlap. Pinch seam to seal., Bake at 375° for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack. , Combine the confectioners' sugar, butter and enough milk to reach desired consistency; drizzle over top of loaf. Garnish with almonds and cherries.

- Preheat oven to 375°. Place the almond paste, butter and sugar in a food processor; cover and pulse until chopped. Add egg and flour; process until smooth., Place puff pastry sheets onto a greased baking sheet. Spread half of the filling mixture down the center third of 1 pastry sheet. On each side, cut 8 strips about 3-1/2 in. into the center. Starting at 1 end, fold alternating strips at an angle across filling. Pinch ends to seal. Repeat with remaining pastry and filling., Bake until golden brown, 30-35 minutes. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely., Combine the confectioners' sugar, milk and almond extract. Drizzle over braids; sprinkle with almonds. Cut into slices to serve.

BLUEBERRY CREAM CHEESE BREAKFAST BRAID
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 F.
- Roll out the crescent roll dough into a thinner, rectangular sheet.
- Combine the cream cheese, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and lemon zest in a bowl until smooth and completely combined.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture onto the center of the crescent roll sheet. Leaving about an inch and a half of dough on either side of the mixture.
- Toss the blueberries with the tablespoon of flour, lemon zest , and teaspoon of sugar.
- Place the blueberries over the cream cheese mixture.
- Make diagonal cuts into the dough, starting where there is not cream cheese and stopping when you get to the cream cheese center. Make about 10 cuts on each side.
- Pull the strips of dough over the top the blueberries, alternating sides.
- Place on the center rack of the oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While it is cooling, whisk together whole milk and powdered sugar to create a glaze .
- When the blueberry braid has slightly cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top and serve.

- In a small saucepan on low heat, combine milk, water, and butter until butter is melted (about 120-130 degree F). Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, undissolved yeast and salt. Mix and slowly add in milk mixture. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed (using paddle attachment on electric mixer), scraping the sides of the bowl occasionally. Add eggs, cinnamon, and an additional cup of flour. Beat 2 more minutes at high speed. Add in enough flour (about 1 to 1 1/2 cup at this point) to make a soft dough.
- Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead with hands until smooth and elastic (about 8 minutes). Cover dough with plastic wrap and let rest 10 minutes. While dough is resting, make the filling.
- For the filling, drain maraschino cherries using a strainer (discard juice). Pat cherries dry on paper towels to remove excess moisture. Reserve about 6-8 cherries for final garnish. The remaining cherries, dice into fourths. In a small bowl, combine almonds, sugar, melted butter, almond extract, egg and diced cherries. Mix until combined. Set aside.
