A one of a kind hamburger casserole recipe that's made with tender beefy goodness and smothered in a bed full of shredded cheese.

8 oz cream of mushroom soup
1 cup shredded and divided cheese
1½ lb ground beef
1 pkg or homemade crescent dough, divided crescent roll
to taste salt and pepper
2 tbsp vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cook the ground beef in a saucepan until brown. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Drain the fat from the saucepan.
  • Pour the cream of mushroom and ⅓ cup of cheese into the beef and set aside.
  • Dust your working area with flour and roll your crescent dough. Divide into half, and press half of the dough over the bottom of an ungreased casserole.
  • Pour the beef mixture over dough that has been pressed to the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Top the dish with the remaining dough, trim the edge if necessary and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese is slightly brown.
  • Once done, let it rest for 10 mins. Garnish with alfalfa sprouts if desired and serve!

2 ½ cups elbow macaroni
1 (8 ounce) package processed cheese (such as Velveeta®), cubed
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed Cheddar cheese soup (such as Campbell's®)
1 (8 ounce) carton sour cream
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
¼ cup chopped onion
¼ cup milk
8 slices American cheese (such as Kraft®)
1 (8 ounce) package buttery round crackers (such as Ritz®), crushed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease an 11x13-inch baking dish.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook elbow macaroni in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, 8 minutes. Drain. Transfer to a bowl, add processed cheese cubes, and let stand until cheese partially melts.
  • Place ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, break meat apart with a spatula, and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook and stir until beef is browned and crumbly, about 10 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  • Stir Cheddar cheese soup, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, and onion together in a bowl; gently fold macaroni and processed cheese mixture into soup mixture. Stir in milk until thoroughly combined. 1 (15 ounce) can cut green beans, drained
⅓ cup diced white onion
¼ cup chopped green bell pepper
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
½ pinch garlic salt
1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
1 (8 ounce) package shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 large egg, lightly beaten

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Add green beans, onion, and bell pepper. 1 (8 ounce) can Pillsbury crescent roll dough ((I like to use the Crescent Dough Sheets, which don't have any perforations))
1 lb. ground beef
1 cup salsa ((or substitute with barbecue sauce))
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
Optional garnish: sliced green onions, chopped fresh parsley, or other taco toppings like sour cream, sliced olives, avocado or guacamole, or pickled red onions

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Spray an 11 x 7-inch baking dish with cooking spray. You can also use a 9 x 13-inch dish -- it will just yield a slightly thinner crust and beef layer. Either works well, though!
  • Unroll crescent roll dough and press into the bottom of the prepared dish to form a crust. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain any grease from the skillet.
  • Stir in 1 cup of salsa.

Melted butter (for brushing crust before baking)

Steps:

  • In a skillet, brown ground beef and onion. Drain.

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 large onion, diced
1 tablespoon canola oil
salt, to taste
pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon oregano
2 cloves chopped garlic
1/2 teaspoon paprika
one 28-ounce can pureed tomatoes, or your favorite sauce
16 ounce box macaroni noodles
1/2 cup each grated cheddar and mozzarella cheeses

Steps:

  • Sweat the onions in the oil with a three-fingered pinch of salt. Add the beef and cook it, breaking it up as you do. Add another three-fingered pinch of salt or two, along with the dry seasonings. Add the tomatoes and bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and cook for an hour.
  • Cook the macaroni in boiling water till it's half done. Drain it and add it to the tomatoes. (I wanted this to stretch into two meals, so I used the whole box, but if you want your dish to be very tomatoey and beefy, you might want to add only half the macaroni). Stir it into the sauce. Taste it and add cheese and cover or transfer it to a large baking dish and cover it with foil. It can be refrigerated for up to two days, or frozen a few weeks.
  • If refrigerated bake it in a 400 degree oven till it's piping hot (about 45 minutes if it's cold to room temperature). Just before you're ready to eat, remove the foil, cover macaroni with the cheese and broil till the cheese is bubbly.

1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 c chopped green pepper
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
2 tsp chili powder
1 can buttermilk biscuits
1 1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350º.
  • 2. Brown hamburger in onion powder and green pepper. Drain.

1 1/2 lb ground beef 85-15%
1 small onion, yellow, chopped
1/2 large green bell pepper, chopped
2 stalk(s) celery, chopped
1 can(s) diced tomato, 1 lb 12 oz.
1 can(s) diced tomato, 14 oz.
1 tsp salt or to taste
1/4 tsp pepper or to taste
1/2 - 2/3 box of a 1 lb. box of rigatoni pasta cooked according to package instructions. don't forget to add salt to the water.
1 bag(s) cheddar cheese, finely shredded, 2-3 cups

Steps:

  • 1. Brown meat over meduim heat and then add all chopped veggies and season with salt and pepper.
  • 2. Puree the 1 LB 12 OZ can of diced tomatoes (Whole Peeled Tomatoes can also be used if desired) and add to hamburger mixture. Add the 14 oz. can of diced tomatoes and stir. Cover and simmer until veggies are tender. Taste and add more salt and pepper if necessary.
  • 3. While the sauce is simmering, cook the rigatoni in salted water according to box instructions. Do not overcook the pasta because it will continue to cook when added to the sauce. Drain and add to the hamburger mixture incorporating well.
  • 4. Sprinkle liberally with grated cheddar cheese (I use either mild or medium), cover and simmer until cheese is melted.
  • 5. Hint: I use an electric skillet to prepare this recipe but you can also use a large skillet keeping in mind that it makes a good amount. This is really good for company or to take to a potluck party. Also good for leftovers. Side Dishes are just a green salad and nice crunchy rolls just out of the oven.
