Garlic-Cheese Chicken Wings image

I developed this recipe several years ago using chicken breasts, then decided to try it on wings as an appetizer - and it was a hit! If you like garlic, you're sure to enjoy these tender zesty bites. -Donna Pierce, Lady Lake, Florida

2 large whole garlic bulbs
1 tablespoon plus 1/2 cup olive oil, divided
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1-1/2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3/4 cup grated Romano cheese
1/2 teaspoon pepper
15 whole chicken wings (about 3 pounds)

Steps:

  • Remove papery outer skin from garlic (do not peel or separate cloves). Cut top off garlic bulbs. Brush with 1 tablespoon oil. Wrap each bulb in heavy-duty foil. Bake at 425° for 30-35 minutes or until softened. Cool for 10-15 minutes., Squeeze the softened garlic into a blender. Add the butter, hot pepper sauce and remaining oil; cover and process until smooth. Pour into a shallow bowl. In another shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs, cheeses and pepper., Cut chicken wings into three sections; discard wing tip section. Dip chicken wings into the garlic mixture, then coat with crumb mixture. Place on a greased rack in a 15x10x1-in. baking pan; drizzle with any remaining garlic mixture. , Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 50-55 minutes or until chicken juices run clear.

1 kg (2 lbs) chicken wings
1 tablespoon curry
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
100 g (3.5 oz) Parmesan cheese (grated)
50 g (2 oz) butter (melted)
1 teaspoon dry herbs mix (basil, dill, parsley)

Steps:

  • Mix salt and curry in a small cup. Rub the chicken wings with the mixture. Put them in a large pan, pour the vinegar in, stir with hands until all wings are in vinegar. Set the chicken wings in the fridge to marinate for 3 hours. When they're ready to cook, place them in a deep greasy roasting tin and send to the preheated oven. Cook for 20 minutes at 440 ºF (230 ºC). Meanwhile mix the butter and dry herbs. Take out the chicken wings, smear with the butter/herbs mixture and sprinkle with cheese. Return them to the oven to cook for 10 min more. Serve cheesy chicken wings with dry wine!

4 pounds chicken wings
½ cup butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons ground paprika
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a shallow baking dish with aluminum foil and grease lightly.
  • Cut tips from chicken wings and discard. Cut between the joint to separate each wing into 2 pieces.
  • Combine butter and garlic in a small saucepan over low heat; heat until butter is melted and garlic is fragrant, 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Mix Parmesan cheese, parsley, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper together in a shallow bowl.
  • Dip chicken wing pieces in melted butter mixture; coat with Parmesan cheese mixture in the bowl. Arrange in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle any remaining butter on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until skin is browned and juices run clear, about 1 hour.
