Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350F. Slice the french bread in half lengthwise. Press down the inside of each half with your fingers, (or remove some of the bread) creating an indention to hold the meat mixture. Place each half onto a baking sheet.
- Brown and crumble the ground beef with the onion until the beef is done, remove from heat, and drain off the fat. Mix in the evaporated milk, egg, oats, mustard, steak sauce, salt, pepper, and 2 cups cheddar cheese.
- Stuff equally into each half, top with remaining 1 cup cheese, and bake for about 20 minutes. Midway through cooking, check to see if the edges of the bread are browning too quickly. If so, loosely cover the loaves with foil and continue baking.
- After baking, slice into hand-held size serving pieces.

CHEESEBURGER MEATLOAF
This meatloaf is extremely juicy, and the potential variety of different flavors is as big as your imagination. I've done American cheese with ketchup and mustard on top and served with dill pickle chips. Another one might be Swiss cheese and mushroom topping.

- In a large skillet, saute the ground beef and onion together until the ground beef's cooked through and the onion is soft. Strain the meat and onions to remove grease, then return to the skillet. Stir in the crumbled bacon and continue to cook the meat mixture for an additional minute or two.
- Stir in the soup, sauces, and spices until evenly incorporated. Let the mixture simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the mixture simmers, slice the top third off of bread, and pull out pieces of bread in the middle of the bottom of the loaf forming a trench to hollow out bottom half of loaf, being careful not to thin it out too much so it doesn't 'leak' when filled. Set aside the discarded bread-- it can be stored to use as stuffing, or in meatloaves and meatballs.
