Testing. Somewhere between a savory cookie and a cracker. Great for holidays and parties! Prep time includes chill time.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup finely grated sharp cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup pecans, toasted and finely chopped

Steps:

  • Sift flour, cayenne and salt together. Set aside.
  • Combine butter with cheeses.
  • Stir in pecans, then flour mixture a little at a time using a wooden spoon to make a soft dough.
  • Shape mixture in 2 x 8-inch long rolls. Wrap in plastic film. Secure ends. Chill at least 3 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 325ºF.
  • Cut each roll into 1/4 inch slices. Place slightly apart on flat baking trays.
  • Bake in preheated oven about 15 minutes or until a light golden brown color. Leave on trays until just firm. Lift onto wire rack. Cool completely before storing in sealed containers.

Oh, nothing, just a thing that popped in my head when I was trying Black Pepper Snap pea crisp a few days back.

16 wedges of laughing cow cheese in creamy swiss cheese (2 packages)
1/3 cup milk
1 dallop sour cream
2 1/2 ounces of either chives or 2 1/2 ounces scallions
half a bag of harvest snaps snap pea crisps in black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, unwrap all of the cheese wedges and place them in the bowl. Then, with with an electric mixer, beat all of them, until it becomes a soft, creamy form.
  • Add the milk and sour cream, beat in until it forms a mixture.
  • And now you are going to get you're chives / Scallions, and chop them. And if you want to make them smaller, you could puree them in a food processor. Add to the cheese mixture.
  • And finally, you are to take half of black pepper snap pea crisps from it's original bag to a plastic one, crush them up into crumbs using a coffee mug. Add to the mixture, and you're left with heavenly rippled chip delight!
  • If you want to use other flavors of LCC and HS here are a couple suggestions: Tomato Basil Mozzerella (LCC) and Tomato Basil (HS) (And use some chopped fresh basil) Garlic and Herb (LCC) and Onion Tyme (HS) (Use green onions instead of chives/ Scallions.

These are addictive! They can be made to anyone's taste by adjusting the amount of heat.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 pound shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups crisp rice cereal
½ teaspoon salt
2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 pinch garlic powder
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, combine cheese, butter or margarine, flour, crispy rice cereal, salt, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and black pepper. Mix well and form small balls out of the dough (the dough will yield approximately 55 balls). Flatten each ball of dough with your fingertips until the dough is very thin and arrange the discs on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 12 minutes; or until the Cheese Crispies are golden and slightly brown around the edges. Enjoy!
