- Gather Materials. Ingredients: 1 Cup Sugar. 1 Cup corn syrup. 1 Cup creamy peanut butter (*Note to reader: This recipe does include peanut product) 1 tsp.
- Mix and Heat Sugars. Mix together a cup of sugar and a cup of corn syrup in a microwave safe bowl. Place the mixture in a microwave and heat until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Combine Peanut Butter. Mix a cup of creamy peanut butter into the hot corn syrup/sugar mixture. Stir together until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
- Mix in Cheerios. While the mixture is still hot, stir in 5 cups of Cheerios. Make sure all the Cheerios are fully coated with the peanut butter mixture.
- Prepare for Cooling. Prepare the wax paper by tearing a sheet out and placing it on a counter top surface. Spray non-stick cooking spray on your hands, this makes it easier to work with the mixture.
- Pour the Mixture Onto Wax Paper. Pour all of the mixture out onto the wax paper, using your hands, smooth out the mixture until it is even and flat.
- Serving Peanut Butter Cheerio Clusters. Once cooled down, you can either break it up into small pieces (pictured above, top), cut the Cheerio mixture (pictures above, bottom, left), or you can leave it one big slab (pictured above, bottom, right) and let your guest determine how much they get!
- Storing Peanut Butter Cheerio Clusters. Finally, once the mixture has cooled, you can place the clusters in an air-tight container to make sure they do not dry out.
