You can change the texture by adding some almond or coconut flour, turn them into sandwiches, modify them into a dessert, change the flavor by using different cheese, etc. This is a basic chaffle, and it's delicious for breakfast with a pat of butter and drizzle of sugar-free syrup.

½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat a waffle maker.
  • Whisk egg in a small bowl and stir in mozzarella cheese.
  • Pour 1/2 of the batter onto the preheated waffle maker, spreading it out from the center with a spoon. Close the waffle maker and cook until the steaming stops and the chaffle is well browned, about 3 minutes. Don't overcook, as that will make it chewy. Repeat process with remaining batter.

2 oz Cream Cheese
1 Egg
1 Tablespoon Coconut Flour
1.5 Tablespoons Sweetener (you can use between 2-3, I prefer 2.5)
1 Teaspoons Vanilla
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Teaspoons Cinnamon (optional)
Coconut Oil Spray
Waffle Maker
1 Teaspoon Butter (optional)

Steps:

  • Place cream cheese into a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 20 seconds. (This step is not needed if your cream cheese is at room temperature.)
  • Mix the rest of your sweet chaffle ingredients in to the bowl with the cream cheese.
  • Plug-in your waffle maker and spray with coconut oil.
  • Spoon just enough of your mixed sweet chaffle ingredients on to the waffle maker.
  • Close your waffle maker and wait patiently, yes - it will be hard.
  • The exact cook time varies, depending on your waffle maker. We find that most waffle makers cook the sweet chaffles in approximately 2 minutes.
  • Remove your cooked sweet chaffle and place on a plate.
  • Top with a slice of butter.
  • Enjoy!

  • Whisk together egg, almond flour, and baking powder. Stir in mozzarella cheese and set batter aside.
  • Preheat a waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Spray both sides of the preheated waffle iron with cooking spray. Pour 1/2 of the batter onto the waffle iron and spread it out from the center with a spoon.
