CEREAL BIRDS' NESTS

Marshmallows, cereal and candy is all you need to create these sweet birds' nest treats.

3 tablespoons butter
3 cups large marshmallows plus 9 marshmallows
3 3/4 cups Fiber One™ original bran cereal (from 16.2-oz box)
2 tablespoons Betty Crocker™ fluffy white frosting
5 banana stretchy and tangy taffy candies (from 6-oz bag)
9 orange slice candies (wedges)
18 miniature chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter and 3 cups of the marshmallows uncovered on High about 2 minutes, stirring after every minute, until smooth. Gently stir in cereal until thoroughly coated.
  • Spray 1/2 cup measuring cup with cooking spray. Measure rounded 1/2 cupfuls cereal mixture onto waxed paper-lined cookie sheets. Shape into nest shapes.
  • To make the birds, cut feet, beaks and wings out of the taffy candy. Adhere to each of the remaining 9 marshmallows with a small amount of the frosting. Cut tops off orange slice candies; use frosting to adhere on top of each marshmallow for crest. Place 2 miniature chocolate chips on front of each marshmallow with frosting for eyes. Place 1 marshmallow in each of the cereal nests.

1/4 cup butter, cubed
4-1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
4 cups chow mein noodles
1 cup jelly beans or candy eggs

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and marshmallows until smooth, stirring occasionally. Add the peanut butter and chocolate chips; heat and stir for 2 minutes or until smooth. Remove from the heat; stir in chow mein noodles until well coated. , Divide into 12 mounds on a waxed paper-lined baking sheet. Using fingers, shape each into a nest; press an indentation in the center of nest. Fill each nest with three or four jelly beans or candy eggs. Cool.

Marshmallows and rice cereal come together in this decorative nutty dessert - perfect to serve a crowd.

4 cups miniature marshmallows
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
4 cups crisp rice cereal
1 1/2 cups broken thin pretzel sticks
1 cup dry-roasted peanuts
1 cup mini speckled malted milk eggs

Steps:

  • Spray 24 regular-size muffin cups with cooking spray. In large microwavable bowl, microwave marshmallows and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Continue to microwave in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth. Stir in peanut butter until blended. Gradually stir in cereal, pretzels and peanuts until well mixed.
  • Divide cereal mixture evenly among muffin cups, pressing mixture in bottom and up side of each cup to form nest, using lightly buttered hands. Let stand until set, about 30 minutes.
  • Remove nests from muffin cups. Place about 3 malted milk eggs in each nest.
