16 ounces uncooked cavatappi pasta
1 (8 ounce) package cheese, blend (Kraft Classic Melts)
3/4 cup milk

Steps:

  • Prepare cavatappi according to package directions, set aside.
  • In the same pot add cheese and milk to pan and melt stirring constantly over medium heat until thoroughly melted.
  • Stir in cavatappi until well coated.
  • Let stand 5 min before serving.

6 cups uncooked cavatappi or spiral pasta
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/3 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
4 cups 2% milk
6 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup cubed Velveeta
3 green onions, chopped
TOPPINGS:
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
3 thick-sliced bacon strips, cooked and coarsley crumbled
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 green onion, chopped
Coarsely ground pepper, optional

Steps:

  • Cook cavatappi according to package directions., Meanwhile, saute garlic in butter in a Dutch oven. Stir in flour and pepper sauce until blended; gradually add milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes., Stir in cheeses until melted; add green onions. Drain cavatappi; stir into cheese mixture., Transfer to a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Combine the bread crumbs, bacon and melted butter; sprinkle over top., Bake, uncovered, at 350° until bubbly, 20-25 minutes. Sprinkle with green onion and, if desired, pepper.

8 ounces cavatappi pasta (corkscrew tube pasta)
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cups vidalia onions, sliced thinly
4 ounces soft fresh goat cheese
1/2 cup milk
1 garlic clove, minced
3 tablespoons dry white wine
1 -2 teaspoon fresh sage, chopped (or 1/2 tsp. dried)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
3 tablespoons toasted walnuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions(10-11 minutes). Drain.
  • Heat oil in saucepan. Add onions and cook slowly until golden and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • To toast walnuts, place in a separate preheated skillet(preferably non-stick) and saute for a few minutes.
  • Combine goat cheese and milk in a small bowl and mix until well blended. Set aside.
  • Add garlic to onion in skillet, cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add wine, sage, salt and black pepper. Cook until liquid has evaporated.
  • Remove from heat; add pasta and goat cheese mixture, stirring to melt cheese. Sprinkle with walnuts. Enjoy!
  • Refrigerate any leftovers.

This very easy recipe uses two pans and has 'pantry' written all over it. It tastes like what you would expect if Hormel® and Chef Boyardee® shared a kitchen. Perfect for kids. Substitute the cavatappi with any full-bodied pasta, such as bow-tie, wagon-wheel, or mostaccioli. You can even sneak in some frozen corn for a little tex-mex feel. Top it with cheese when serving.

2 quarts water
¼ teaspoon sea salt
1 (8 ounce) package cavatappi pasta
1 teaspoon olive oil
¼ cup finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon chili powder
½ teaspoon ground cumin
1 (15 ounce) can seasoned black beans, undrained
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Bring water to a boil in a large pot; add salt. Pour cavatappi into the boiling water and cook until tender but firm to the bite, 10 to 12 minutes; drain and rinse cavatappi.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; cook and stir onion and garlic in the hot oil until onion is softened and transparent, 5 to 10 minutes. Increase heat to medium-high and stir ground beef into onion mixture. Cook and stir until ground beef is browned and crumbly, 5 to 10 minutes. Drain excess grease and return skillet to heat.
  • Mix tomato sauce, chili powder, and cumin into ground beef mixture; cook, stirring occasionally, until tomato sauce is heated through, about 3 minutes. Stir cavatappi into meat sauce until evenly coated; add black beans and pepper. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until flavors have blended, about 5 minutes.
