INSTANT BREAKFAST ICE CREAM SHAKE



Instant Breakfast Ice Cream Shake image

Whenever my kids are not feeling well and ask for a shake, I like to add a packet of Carnation Instant Breakfast / Essentials to it to make it filling and get a little substance into their bellies. My kids prefer the milk chocolate flavored powder, but feel free to use whatever flavor you like.

Number Of Ingredients 4

4 -6 ounces milk, any type
36 g nestle's carnation instant breakfast essentials powder powdered drink mix, 1/3 C
1 cup vanilla ice cream, can use more-less for desired thickness
banana (optional)

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Add more milk or ice cream as desired.

  • Chill the evaporated milk in the fridge until thoroughly cold. (At least overnight, but a few days at the back of the fridge is better.)
  • Pour the milk into the bowl of a mixer or a large mixing bowl. Whip on high speed until fluffy (About 50 seconds in my stand mixer, but it might be longer if using a hand mixer.)
  • Add the powdered sugar in thirds, whipping to combine each addition. Add the vanilla and whip until soft peaks form. (About 20 seconds.) Place bowl in the freezer for one hour.
  • Remove from the freezer and whip for one minute. Return to the freezer for another hour. Repeat 4 times.
