Making this layered drink is super easy in the Ninja Coffee Bar® or just heat and froth your milk of choice and pour over a strong cup of coffee. Aside from being delicious, it's vegan and skinny!

½ cup almond milk
2 tablespoons sugar-free caramel flavoring syrup (such as Torani®)
2 (1 gram) packets stevia sugar substitute (such as Truvia®)
½ cup strong brewed coffee

Steps:

  • Combine almond milk, caramel syrup, and sweetener in a small saucepan and heat until hot. Froth milk mixture and add to mug, holding back froth with the back of a spoon.
  • Pour coffee over milk mixture. Add froth

Hate the calories and the high price tag of your favorite Macchiato? Well, you can make it in the comfort of your own home! I use almond milk but you can use the milk of your choice. From Babble.

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 tablespoons vanilla syrup (recipe follows)
1/2 cup fresh espresso (I use decaf)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk, steamed and frothy with foam (or non dairy milk of choice)
3 -4 tablespoons caramel sauce (I used the same jarred caramel sauce that is sold as an ice cream topping)
2 cups water
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • To make the vanilla syrup, combine sugar and water in a sauce pan. Bring to boil over high heat and boil for 5 minutes. Let cool and add vanilla extract. Stir well and keep in a sealed container, refrigerated.
  • To make coffee, either use an espresso machine to make coffee and steam milk, or heat milk until hot, but not boiling on stove-top and transfer to a blender. Blend until frothy. For espresso, if you don't have a machine, just make double strength coffee.
  • The proper way to make a caramel macchiato is vanilla in the bottom, steamed milk, leaving 1/2 inch from the top, topped with foam, then your shot or shots of espresso, finally topped with a caramel cross hatch which is 7 lines one way 7 lines the other way and 2 full circles all the way around the outer cup.

I love Starbucks Caramel Macchiatos. This is very similar. I make my own caramel recipe #78088. I also make my own vanilla syrup by bioling 1cup of sugar and 1cup of water, remove from heat and tsp vanilla. I usally leave the vanilla syrup out as I like to cut back on my sugar intake. I also use skin milk just to cut back on calories, because they are so good I drink way to many of them!

1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla-flavored syrup
1 tablespoon caramel
1/4 cup brewed espresso

Steps:

  • Combine milk, syrup and caramel then heat. DO NOT BOIL.Heat in pot whisking till frothy or put in mug and microwave about 90seconds.
  • If heating in pot pour into mug. There should be foam on the top.If microwaving in mug use a milk frother to create foam on top of the milk.
  • Pour prepared espresso into milk.
  • Top with caramel drizzle.

2-3 tablespoons 5-minute paleo caramel sauce (, plus more for drizzling. Get recipe in notes)

Steps:

  • If desired, using a spoon, drizzle a bit of caramel sauce on the inside of your glass. Fill glass with ice then pour over almond milk. Then pour cold brew over, and stir in 2-3 tablespoons caramel sauce. Treat yo' self.
