1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 pound ground beef
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with mild green chilies, undrained
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
½ cup long grain rice, uncooked
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon dried oregano
¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
¼ teaspoon ground white pepper
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 small head cabbage, chopped
1 cup shredded Colby cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown together the beef, green pepper, onion, and garlic until the meat is no longer pink and the vegetables have softened, about 8 minutes. Drain liquid from pan.
  • Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, rice, salt, basil, oregano, and the cayenne, white, and black pepper (adding more pepper to taste, if desired). Spread mixture into an ungreased 9x12-inch baking pan. Top with cabbage and Colby cheese.
  • Cover and bake in preheated oven for 65 to 75 minutes, or until the rice is tender.

1 small head green cabbage
1 medium Vidalia onion, (chopped)
8 tablespoons butter
salt and pepper
1 (10-ounce) can condensed cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup
1/3 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 sleeve Ritz crackers (about 30), (coarsely crushed)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 2-quart casserole dish.
  • Coarsely chop the cabbage. Melt butter in a large nonstick pan. Add cabbage and onion and cook 8 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently, or until it is partially cooked down. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Transfer cabbage mixture to prepared baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, stir together soup and mayonnaise. Spread mixture over cabbage.
  • In a bowl, stir together melted butter, cheese, and cracker crumbs. Sprinkle over casserole.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until topping is browned.

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Prepare cornbread batter according to package directions. Spread into a greased 11x7-in. baking dish., In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add tomatoes, vegetables, tomato paste and seasoning. Bring to a boil. Here's a delicious recipe for a low-carb creamed cabbage ground beef casserole with crispy bacon! The homemade cream sauce is seasoned with Cajun spices that enhance the flavor and give this casserole a southern flare.

6 slices no sugar bacon (cooked and chopped)
1 1/4 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon dry minced onion
3 tablespoons cold butter (cut into thin slices)
1 head of cabbage (cored and coarsely chopped)
1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 cup water
1 teaspoon xanthan gum
1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (I used Emeril's Brand (see note))
dash fresh ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Cook bacon in a skillet, drain, chop and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, saute the beef with the onion until brown. Remove and set aside.
  • Place the cabbage in a large microwavable casserole dish with cover, sprinkle in salt, tossing as needed.
  • Top cabbage with the thin butter slices, cover and microwave on high for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer half the cabbage to a 9x13 baking dish.
  • Top with the beef mix, then the bacon.
  • Place remaining cabbage on top.
  • Prepare the sauce by melting the 1/4 cup of butter in the skillet.
  • Add the heavy cream and water, sprinkle and whisk in the xanthan gum.
  • Cook on medium high heat until sauce is thickened. Remove from heat.
  • Whisk in the Cajun seasoning, salt and pepper; taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  • Pour the white sauce over the top of the cabbage, beef, and bacon.
  • Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes or until casserole is hot and bubbly and cabbage is cooked through.

1 medium onion (chopped (6 oz))
2 teaspoons Diamond Crystal kosher salt ((or 1 teaspoon fine salt))
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
28 oz diced tomatoes (well drained)
1 medium green cabbage (roughly chopped (1 lb.))
1.5 cup cheddar (shredded, divided (6 oz total))

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a 2-quart (7 X 11-inch) baking dish.
  • In a large, deep skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, onion, salt and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned, about 5 minutes, stirring and breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon.
  • Add the garlic, paprika, thyme, and cayenne and cook for 30 seconds, stirring.
  • Add the drained tomatoes and the chopped cabbage. Continue to cook, stirring often, until the cabbage is tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Turn the heat off and stir in one cup of the shredded cheese.
  • Using a slotted spoon, transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  • Bake, uncovered, until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is browned, 20-30 minutes.
  • Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.

2 small onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
6 cups chopped cabbage
1 1/4 cups uncooked long grain rice
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup water
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
oil (for frying)
cayenne pepper (optional)

Steps:

  • In large dutch oven add oil for frying and brown the beef and drain it, then return it to the original pan.
  • Add onions gr pepper and garlic, cook until onions are transparent.
  • Add the cabbage, rice, tomatoes, tomato sauce, water and seasonings.
  • Cover and bake at 375 for 50-60 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
