Steps:
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350 2. Remove the liver from the package and rinse it with water. Tap water is fine. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the liver into pieces approximately 1.5 - 2" in size. 3. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes. 4. When the roasting time is up, reduce the temperature on your stove to the lowest it can possibly go. 190F or lower is ideal. (see notes). 5. Let the treats dehydrate for 3 - 5 hours. The treats will darken to almost a black color and become hard. 6. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge. (see notes!!)

Steps:
- Place the chicken leg quarters in a large pot, and fill with enough water to cover by 1 inch. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 40 minutes. Remove the legs and allow to cool. Strain and return the cooking liquid to the pot. Once the legs have cooled. Remove and discard the skin and bones; chop the meat, and set aside.
- Stir the brown rice into the reserved chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the rice is tender, 45 to 50 minutes. Drain off any excess liquid, and add the rice to the bowl with the chicken.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, and add the ground beef. Cook and stir until the beef is crumbly and no longer pink, about 7 minutes. Pour off any excess grease, and place the beef into the bowl. Stir in the oats, spinach, broccoli, kidney beans, carrots, cottage cheese, and olive oil. Store the dog food in resealable containers in the freezer. Thaw the daily portions overnight in the refrigerator.

HOMEMADE DOG LIVER BITES
This homemade dog food is so easy to make with only 4 to 5 ingredients. A blender, liquidizer, or food processor is a great bonus and saves too much mess (but can be made without one, you just have to chop the liver well). They freeze very well. I have been making these yummy bites for my dogs for over 20 years and have not yet had a complaint! I make double or triple the mix so I always have some spare for doggy visitors. Great to chop/crumble up and put on regular dog food if pooch has lost his appetite. Also can conceal pills very well too.

DRIED LIVER TREATS
Your dog is going to love these. Probably your cat, too It will keep all day while you carry it around in your pocket. When the liver is dried it can be stored in the fridge for about a week or in the freezer for about 3 months (in a sealed container).
