Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper (not necessary, but makes for easier clean-up).
- Wash, trim and halve - or quarter - sprouts, depending on their size.
- Toss sprouts with olive oil to lightly coat.
- Stir in bacon bits*.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Spread sprouts evenly in one layer on baking sheet.
- Bake for about 10 minutes or longer depending on how crispy you like them.

- Slice Brussels sprouts in half, if large; place on prepared baking sheet. Add oil, 2 teaspoons salt and pepper; toss well to coat. Roast, stirring and rotating pan halfway through cooking, about 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine vinegar, maple syrup and remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt in a small saucepan; set over medium-high heat. Boil, stirring frequently, until thick and syrupy, about 3 minutes.
