Steps:
- Wash the fruits and peel. Squeeze 2 oranges or the equivalent of 1/2 cup of juice and pour into a bowl.
- Cut the fruits in very small pieces. (Be sure to cut off the white part of the oranges before slicing it since it can turn the entire salad sour.).
- The smaller the pieces, the tastier the salad since you will be able to pick up a larger variety of fruits in each spoonful.
- Mix all of the fruits well and put the salad in the refrigerator until you're ready to serve it. Serve in the hallowed out half of a pineapple.

BRAZILIAN CHICKEN SALAD (SALPICAO DE FRANGO)
This is a really easy chicken salad made with a cream and mustard dressing instead of mayo, which results in a lighter taste. Great for leftover chicken.

BRAZILIAN FRUIT SALAD
Number Of Ingredients 5
Steps:
- Dice equal parts of the ingredients and mix. Watermelon is sometimes used and adds a nice color. Should be made an hour in advance, so that all of the flavors can blend. Sometimes a little fresh orange juice is added. If necessary, sweeten with a little sugar. This is normally served alone. However, for a fancier, less typical dessert, a scoop of ice cream could be served on top. NOTE: Although this is called salada is it not a salad in the American sense, but rather a dessert.

- Farofa. Farofa is toasted cassava flour that is paired with almost any meal. Sprinkle it on top of rice, beans, or feijoada. It doesn’t have a strong flavor and soaks up the flavor of whatever you cook it with.

BRAZILIAN FRUIT LIST: 10 BRAZILIAN - FINE DINING LOVERS
From finedininglovers.com
- Seriguela. Abundant across Brazil during mid-summer, Seriguela (also known as a kumquat) is a species of cashew (though don’t let this fool you, it’s not a nut, and tastes nothing like a cashew).
- Kino (Kiwano / Horned Melon) Originally a native of the Kalahari desert, this awesome looking fruit tastes like a mix of banana and kiwi, with cucumber–like seeds.
- Jabuticaba. Native to the south east of Brazil Jabuticaba is a berry that looks a lot like a grape, but with a sweet pulpy inner fruit (a bit like lychee).
- Caqui Caqui. Also known as Persimmon, caqui caqui is a variety of the Sharon fruit and was bought to the country 100 years ago by Japanese migrants. Often mistaken for a tomato at first glance, it is deliciously sweet when ripe and super bitter when not due to its high tannin content.
- Atemoya. Like the Liger and Leopon (google them, they're not fruits) the Atemoya is a cross-breed of the sweetsop (sugar apple) and the Cherimoya, and is a manmade half-breed that was originally engineered by horticulturist P.J.
- Noni. Famously known as the vomit fruit for its smell, which is reminiscent of rotting cheese, Noni is probably the one fruit on the list you really won’t want to try, especially raw.
- Ameixa-Amarela. Google "Ameixa Amarela" (which literally means yellow plum) and you won’t find many pictures that resemble the specimens I found in the Mercado Municipal in Sao Paulo.
- Pitaya. Although native to many parts of Asia, these particular varieties of Pitaya (which means scaly fruit, more commonly know as the dragon fruit) are members of the cactus family, and are originally from Mexico, where the red version is called ziix is ccapxl – "thing whose fruit is sour” – as it has a more bitter taste than that of its sweeter yellow cousin.
- Pearapple (Korean or Asian Pear) It looks like an apple but tastes like a pear – its a pearapple, or an appley-pear, and like the Atemoya it’s another cross-breed, but this time of the Asian and European pear, which has been adapted to grow in the subtropical climates of Brazil.
- Brazilian Maracuja. The final fruit on our list you're probably more familiar with, and its definitely the most famous and widely used of Brazilian fruits.
